  1. , and tomorrow. Supporting , and (in that order) for the tournament in general.
  2. Well, they *are* part of North America, at least geographically (and I would argue culurally as well since most of their polulation are Inuit).
  3. Pretty sure it’s a rule that every team needs at least one American player.
  4. They are honestly better tham half the core teams. Unfortunetly for them promotion is really fluky.
  5. All the bids we have have glaring flaws, even Calgary currently plans to hold ski jumping and nordic combined in Whistler along with some ice events in Edmonton. At least Sion had excelent venues for most sports, and while St Moritz was out of the way it has *the* venue for sliding sports.
  6. Sion had the best bid IMO, it’s a real shame to see them withdraw. At this rate whichever bid from either Calgary or Western Europe remains standing will just win by default.
  7. Listen, if someone fron the Israeli team got busted for doping during the WBC it would have counted as an Israeli doping case even though most of the players aren’t Israeli citizens. Sports are arbitrary sometimes. It’s also not much of a scandal because literally nobody cares whether Algeria has 0 or 1 dopping case this year except for you.
  8. Well this continues the FIVB’s long and proud tradition of making unspeakably terrible qualification systems...
  9. CBD doesn’t cause impairment. It’s very much not THC.
  10. I mean whatever, it’s probably no more advantageous or dangerous than the antiinflammation drugs that are kosher with WADA (which is what CBD is useful for).
  11. I’m not that shocked Yates blew up tbh. The thord week of a grand tour is hard and he was untested.
  12. It was much less impressive when the Blues did it because a. the league had six expansion teams that year (so half the league) and b. all six expansion teams where in the same division, which meant one was guaranteed to advance to the Stanley Cup finals.
  13. Is there really demand for that? In the US at least International baseball is an afterthought at best - I'm pretty sure the Little League World Series (which is played by literal pre-pubescent children) is a bigger deal than any International Baseball event here.
  14. ...anyone has any clue what the difference is between the Snowboard mixed team slalom and the Snowboard alpine mixed team parallel event?
  15. Oh, no, they are trying to get it in for the 2022 Olympics (and it isn't even the only event making it's debut at the 2021 Worlds that they are trying to get into the 2022 Olympics *cough* parallel slalom *cough*). It's just that since they are adding it to Worlds for 2021 it basically guarantees inclusion in 2026.
  16. The FIS announced that women's nordic combined would be part of the Nordic Skiing world championships from 2021, which essentially guarantees women's Nordic Combined will be in the Olympics by 2026.
  17. They are strictly better than not having a host. I think it’s pretty clear that combining the freestyle and snowboarding worlds wasn’t such a great idea. Other than Park City in 2019 all the hosts have been from meh to WTF.
  18. TBH on a personal level I fully support Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes who switch to represent Qatar, Bahrein or whatever other country. It’s just a much better option for them financially.
  19. This is a terible, no good rule that might as well refer to Semenya by name and only apply to her. On what planet is a high testosterone level only advantageous from the 400m to the mile? Oh, ya, that’s Semenya’s known range of distances. What a joke. And I say that as someone who doesn’t think Semenya should be allowed to compete at her current level of testosterone.
  20. Isn’t there always a bunch of confusion over how qualification actually works for Canoeing? I feel like the Wikipedia page always ends up having a couple errors.
