Pasolini got a reaction from Jur in Tennis at the African Games 2023
is the other semifinal being broadcasted somewhere? Cheering for Benjamin Lock, as Laura Pigossi's beau. would be great to have a Olympic couple.

Pasolini got a reaction from Josh in Equestrian Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024
Just read the official confirmation from FEI, so sad that Svenja GRIMM lost the quota. She gave an interview to a Chilean newspaper
Not sure if is fair or unfair, but it's sad that qualifications that happen based on tournaments are still not confirmed. I remember thinking about that still in Santiago, but was hoping they would not take her out of the games.

The tripartite quota on the women's side is quite competitive. Currently in the top 400 we have:
Lina Gjorcheska (239)
Danka Kovinic (241)
Kathinka von Deichmann (277)
Francesca Curmi (311)
Sada Nahimana (336)
Victoria Jimenez (364)
While I would love Burundi to get the quota and help boost tennis in Africa, Liechtenstein might force the tripartite committee's hand. They aren't eligible to send a swimmer and they don't compete in athletics (when was the last time they competed at a World Championships?) so without a tripartite quota they won't compete at the Olympics.
Outside of tennis their most likely tripartite quota would be in mountain biking. Also Liechtenstein has a higher ranking than Burundi so that may also play into their hand.

The 4 main seeds at the men's draw are alive. they are the only ones that could realistically use the Olympic quota.
Aziz Dougaz needed a 10-8 MTB win to pass in the first round and will face Elliot Benchetri in a QF
Moez Echargui play against Eliakim Coulibaly
Benjamin Lock lost at the R32 according to the official website but he also won (?) so he will face Michel Bassem in the QF (seriously, what's so difficult on posting a pdf draw in the website?)
Mohamed Safwat #368 will face Iradukunda Guy Orly
On the women's side
WOMEN'S
Mayar Sherif is the big favorite and is on the QF.
The only other African woman on the top400, Sada Nahimana started well, winning 6-0 6-0 but then lost to a south african player. I wonder if the Universality quota will go to her or again to

Pasolini got a reaction from Illya in LGBTQ+ in Sports
Yeah, I agree but I try to think in the positive half-glass-full way.
In the past everybody was assumed to be straight until they had their official coming out.
Nowadays it is still the same, but through instagram and other social media you can see athletes comfortable enough to show same-gender boyfriends/girlfriends even if they don't see themselves as ambassadors etc.
We have to remember that most of them have spent their entire lives focused on sport, so they many times are unaware of major social issues or just don't have the strength/time/abilities to do that.
That's why I like that IOC NOCs and affiliates (such as IOA) are creating more educational programs for the athletes.

Pasolini reacted to Adriano in LGBTQ+ in Sports
We used to have LGBT representation recently. In Tokyo we had 3 girls (Zillman rowing - no quota now, Jarmolinska - shooting - end her career, Ogar-Hill was in polish
wide team in sailing, but not start in mixed 470). So now in Paris we will not have an open LGBT person. Ofcourse it's a high possibiloty to have LGBT in person, but they are not officialy open about this (we used to have this kind of people, it's not hard to know if you are checking social media). I understand this, but this kind of activity could be helpful for polish LGBT young people. But they are prefer choosing making ig content closer to modelling. It's their decision.

Ukraine and Russia never stoped playing in the tennis circuit and now are regularly facing each other in judo, fencing and some other sports. I highly doubt it will be an issue.
Israel for me is more likely to cause concerns/issues when facing arab nations. We could have a very interesting Israel vs Morocco in football.

I thought about starting a new topic to discuss the matter, as in LGBTQ+ athletes, or politics towards it.
Hopefully it will be a topic with a lot of positive news being shared etc, but I thought about it due to a crime commited on a sports arena.

Anderson Melo, a Beach Volleyball player who recieved a lot of homophobic chants and hate from the crowds (and possibly from the rival pair, could not really understand 100% from the video). The referee was totally inept and let this happened.
In Brazil, homophobia is a crime, so Anderson started a Police Report on that.

Having said all that, it's a bit of a nightmare to follow...
You find things like that on the scorelines
There is one Kenyan journalist and one from Zimbabwe that may help us with that specially when time comes to decide things.

It's true. And the support for him is huge now, some from major volleyball Olympic champions in Brazil and also State Ministers, not to mention a huge press conference. One of the finalists from the tournament, also gay, spoke about it after his semfinal win today.
