Qualification Tracker

  1. Track Cycling Quota Projection as at end of January:
  2. It's less about the Olympic quota and more about the likely increase in financial support that they would get from UK Sport if they were able to sneak through to the quarter finals.
  3. I think you are right that Marchant will be on the team but with the restrictions on the quotas, I think GB would struggle to bring a 4th sprint rider. So for me, it's looking likely that Lauren Bell/Lowri Thomas will make way as lead-off and will be replaced by Marchant. Capewell and Finucane will then go in the individual sprint and Capewell and Marchant in the Kierin. Comparing the last few results for GB against Germany, Marchant is fairly consistently about 0.1 second slower than Germany whilst Finucane on the final lap is about 0.1 second faster. So if Capewell can make marginal improvement then the final will be very tasty.
  4. Ignore this - hadn't checked the rules for reallocation of quotas.
  5. I'm not sure that Miller can qualify for the individual competition - I may have misunderstood the qualification document, but in order to get a quota under the "additional athlete" phase, they had to finish higher than 21st and Miller was 25th.
  6. Wikipedia have awarded the women's 10m platform quotas to the following: Sarah Jodoin di Maria Melissa Wu Maycey Vieta Kim Mi-rae Else Praasterink Sofiia Lyskun Rin Kaneto Kim Na-hyun Maia Biginelli Anisley Garcia Katrina Young Dzeja Patrika
  7. So ignoring the effect of the host quotas, compared to Tokyo '20, and don't defend their quotas and are replaced by and . The rest of the field will be the same as Tokyo.
  8. With both and have a bit of a mare, it looks like it is advantage and for the quotas with 2 more rounds of dives to come.
  9. I know it is early days, but the commentators at the world champs have been pretty abysmal so far - we had being mistaken for in yesterday's open water and now in the diving we've had being called as
  10. Decent 1st quarter from against - they managed to keep it reasonably close (5-3) but Italy are beginning to show their class and are pulling away in the 2nd quarter.
  11. History tells us that they are probably not
  12. Wow - looks like can kiss their chances of 3m synchro quota with that 3rd round dive.
  13. If she was a possible medalist, she should have been able to at least make the semi-finals here and/or at Fukuoka and she was nowhere near. As it is her scores have only been heading in 1 direction over the last couple of seasons. Hopefully she can encourage the next generation of Malaysian divers but the days when she was a potential medalist are in all likelihood over.
  14. Yet again our friends at Wikipedia have produced a different set of qualifiers They've given the nod to for Americas continental with getting reallocated host quota. They have no quota for
  15. Not sure that's right - the second Brit finished ahead of the Mexican
  16. Anyone know what Keegan is capable of in the pool? Assume if she could get the time for 800m or 1500m she could be entered into the open water event?
  17. Whilst I agree with your analysis, we seem to be in disagreement with the font of all knowledge that is Wikipedia who say it is and who get the continental quotas.
  18. With getting quota here, aren't there now 14 quotas available here? - so Jungblut would also qualify
  19. Someone has finally explained to them that its Monaco
  20. And the commentators think she represents !!!
  21. Qualifying position for men's team sprint: With absent, move to the top of the rankings and it is going to be nip and tuck to decide which country will finish at the top of the rankings. emerging as real contender for the bronze medal as they move up the ranking - they are currently in 4th place but will move ahead of GB when the continental champs take place. The main focus going forward is likely to be the battle between and for the final spot. At the moment, Poland is currently ahead but this will likely be reversed when the continental championships take place. If we factor in their likely continental points, then Canada would be ahead by just 45 points. I don't think that Canada will be able to replicate their 4th place finish when we get to Milton in April so my best guess is that the advantage is currently with Poland for the last quota, but they will need to send their strongest team to both Hong Kong and Milton to give them their best chance.
  22. With the 1st of 3 Nations Cups complete, I've had a chance to run the numbers and the current race for qualifying in the men's team pursuit looks like this: should move up to 5th place this week however it will be temporary as both and have their continental championships in hand and both are likely to pick up additional 900 points there. The maximum that GB can now score is 7,793 which means that they cannot catch , , or . It is also unlikely that they will finish ahead of and so at the moment, I would say that they will probably end the ranking period in 7th place.
  23. It wasn't a high scoring event, but it wasn't that far out of sync from previous events when you take into account the fact that there were no athletes taking part. In the comparable event from 2019, the highest non-Chinese diver scored 262 and took silver. It looks like a lot of the stronger divers have elected to prioritise the 3m instead.
