  1. Italy - China was kind of interesting, the Dutch only really went for it in the first quarter, Japan - UK was a total bore and Greece - France at least was interesting for half a match. In a way, it is more than I expected.
  2. Martens was MIA since 2021 anyway. The problems are different, ranging from Roord not defending to some defenders not suitable for the tasks, and from the team being too old in some spots to a right between these experienced players and the coach.
  3. Trying to follow Women’s Euro football, Tour de France, U23 Athletics, Water Polo World champs and Open Water World champs, while also still catching up on 3x3 worlds and Euro Nation Team Athletics. Busy times indeed.
  4. Many old players, young players are not up to level, bad management and a tough group. I didn’t expect anything but still disappointed we are really close to elimination after two games.
  5. Suriname and Curacao have kind of the same “troubles” yeah. And I mean, they are totally in their right, but I’m not really crazy to see them into the world cup over Honduras or Uzbek, so to say.
  6. Their resurgence is mainly because they manage to pick off more Dutch players, who are born here and have one parent far in their lineage. I mean, it's allowed and all and good for them, but they play for Indonesia only because they are sure they will never play in the Dutch national team. For me it's a clear reason to not care for Indonesia much tbh, because it isn't actual Indonesian players.
  7. I was still catching up on Table Tennis Worlds, but apparently WTT has been hacked at Youtube so watching is impossible currently. Hope old livestreams will be recovered..
  8. Yeahh.. this aged like milk. Ayuso in horrible form due to whatever and Roglic being classic Roglic again literally falling out of contention.
  9. Yeah, I agree this is not looking good on 'our' behalf. Although you'll never know if whereabouts issues are silly carelessness or malicious intent.
  10. Three Dutch judoka are banned because of whereabout issues. The misery within this sport is never-ending for the Dutch, it seems.
  11. Out of the more traditional songs, I like this one best alongside Serbia. For the final, hope Sweden doesn't win for once. The song is fine, but for their standards a bit mid. And I have seen enough Sweden for the last few years to see a mid entry from them winning. Moldova seems to come back next year. Which is a good thing, they often have fun, memorable and unique songs
  12. It works when you have groups of 6 or a second groups stage-like round. But that is not an option in the case of football.
  13. Unnecessary move. 32 teams works better and is fine as is. 48 teams is both too many and leads to an uninteresting group stage with so many teams qualifying.
  14. Ayuso should be able to go up against Roglic. Others not so much.
  15. At least Netherlands is not going out with 9 losses.. now for Spain to do the same.
  16. Our judo is facing a deep, deep crisis for years now. Don´t see it change anytime soon. We are not a combat sport nation anyway, but at this sport we at least have some history. Apart from a decent performance by Van Krevel (and maybe Gersjes), anyone can see it is a big mess within our federation and this has effect on even our half-decent athletes, although Sanne was very unlucky in the draw.
  17. Catarina losing the final against Boukli yet again..
  18. First bit of Olympics I saw consciously was 2000 (so Greene), but first time I actually saw a live event was 2004 (Gatlin). However, the first time I actually saw the 100 live was Bolt in 2012, when I really started watching the Olympics more in-depth and became a fan of the power of the event for smaller sports.
  19. I don't like these convoluted mixed events. I mean, it is fine if there is a clear, not too weird format, but more and more silly mixed events are coming up just to have a 'mixed' event. I don't mind the format in Archery, Athletics (there the main problem is the schedule), Biathlon and Shooting (also not in freestyle Swimming but that one is not Olympic). Naturally also fine with MD in the Tennis sports. But all others are pretty convoluted already and there is just more to come.
  20. They got the DQ and rightly so, so that's a bit of a moot point here, right? Was another bit of dangerous driving indeed. Why would I be? I like to focus on the good moments, not on the bad ones.
  21. So causing a clear collision is not even a yellow, but overtaking the derny early is an immediate red? I guess I don't really understand the rules here.
  22. If that wasn't a second yellow, what's the use of yellow cards then? I mean, Carlin had a strong final race, but also was pretty dangerous there.
