  1. Snoozefest. France not looking good but they cannot complain about luck.
  2. Italy will probably be 6th-8th some way behind battling with the like of Netherlands, Australia and Germany. I don’t see either of these four challenging the top 5. Isn’t Irelands best chance in Gymnastics?
  3. Apart from Group C this group phase has been totally fine. Late goal drama for Scotland, Croatia (twice) and Czechia, great upset from Austria to win against Netherlands and beat France who lack prowess to score a field goal (although I still think they don't look too bad), Spain and Germany who play nice football and a very open group E where still anybody could go out.
  4. Won’t happen because Portugal then plays Croatia. They will just draw against Georgia if this scenario looms.
  5. Wouldn't exactly be a surprise. GB winning would be a surprise to me.
  6. Yeah, missing out on the gold would probably have been enough of a bold prediction to consider, and is more likely than neither of the girls taking a medal home, which I agree, would take some crazy races. Wouldn't be the first time that after a crazy race in trials the swimmers in question just couldn't deliver at the actual Olympics really.
  7. With a bit of luck a draw against Romania might well be enough to get both of you through, because of the 3-0 against Ukraine.
  8. At least there is still the option to watch multiple channels here, like Belgium, Germany and the BBC. But Eurosport coverage was really poor last time around, so I don't have my hopes up for their TV channel. It really seemed to be designed for getting people to watch on demand stuff. I will pay it gladly anyway, but I won't stay around after the Olympics for sure.
  9. Yeah, make fun of it all you want, but at least they will underperform compared to recent form. Which is high enough to say they may well still be getting a medal, but I do think they will miss out on the gold nonetheless.
  10. More bad news for The Netherlands as reigning Olympic champion Niek Kimmann will miss Paris because of heart problems. The French BMX race sweep is getting close this way.
  11. It really stands with Rowing though, I'd say we score 10 golds outside of rowing, and then 2-5 golds in rowing. 5 golds in rowing would be totally crazy tbh, 3 would already be really good.
  12. What else did you expect from a country where the man who cause the escalation in the match against the Serbs that was concluded 0-3 by decision is considered a national hero? I mean, not every single Albanian is like this, but there are enough of them which are vocal about it as well for a reason. The entire area needs at least 100 more years to completely settle down.
  13. The predictions often take golds like Bol, Van der Poel, Madison, Steenbergen with a pretty high chance, while out of these for I give Bol maybe 5% chance, vd Poel maybe 10% and the other two 1% at best. Hassan is the only one that has a high chance of producing a gold often not reflected in predictions. Golds that are certain I would only give to Florijn and Lavrijsen. I'd say it is highly likely we will also take gold from hockey, women's cycling road race, at least one sailing event and at least 2 more rowing events, team sprint and even though form is uncertain, I will put Sifan in here as well. Then we do have at least 10 events were gold is a realistic possibility, from anywhere from 10-50%. These include stuff like men's cycling, women's XCO on the low end and more rowing golds, M keirin and Van Rouwendaal on the high end. All in all, I'd say 12-15 golds is pretty realistic. And that would still be really good for us.
  14. 1. Swimmers that I'm most excited for Siobhan Haughey, Jordan Croocks, Diogo Ribeiro probably. Always hope for the smaller countries to edge out Australia, China and USA in some events. In that sense I also hope the Italian, British and Canadian relay teams will be doing well. 2. Brave predictions Australian girls will not get a medal in 200 free. Lana Pudar will take home a medal in 200 fly. China will beat Australia in swimming medal table. 3. Country predictions Corbeau 4th in 200 breast, no chance on a medal there. Kamminga won't be strong at all. Schouten will take the gold, however. Also, Steenbergen takes home one bronze on 100/200 Free, probably on the 100. For Spain, Hugo Gonzalez will make 2 finals and will finish 6th as his best result. That's it.
  15. Wasn’t expecting this really, especially after the performances of Canada in the first few weeks. Really happy to be able to see some volleyball on Dutch television. Heartbreak for Canada though, who had a really solid start to this Nations League. At least it seems like the winner of this match is going to Paris, which is better than the loser going through because of mathematics. Als long as we won’t bin it against Korea but that should be doable. I would rather have seen both Canada and Netherlands going through and Japan out or something like that, but that just wasn’t going to happen. I understand it is a tough loss to take, I would have thought much the same as @Josh when we would have lost the match against Canada. At least there is still the men’s team to cheer on and I hope they will be doing well.
  16. I remember using it at least one month before the games started in 2021. I can imagine though: stuff like 3x3 Basketball doesn't even have complete schedules. For the time being, something from another source can also help. But I know such a thorough/complete schedule is a rarity.
  17. Is there any schedule that just sums events by day on their start time, instead of being interactive with excel or grouping by sport? I really liked the day by day schedules that were on here for Rio and Tokio, there must be something similar somewhere just showing all events/competitions by time order (and possibly highlighting medal events)? Preferrably also with (expected) finish times. I know I can do some countback and stuff, but that would really help me scheduling everything for my own TV plans.
  18. What even happened at that first start of the 100?
  19. That was totally unnecessary indeed, just take the small chance that the two hits on 17-13.
  20. Although I don’t feel form is there anyway and we might even drop below Germany, this doesn’t help. Well, that means no volleyball on Dutch TV and watching the stream a few times for one of my favourite sports, and that’s probably about it.
