  1. @Makedonas Polish 400m NR is still Irena Szewinska's old WR from Montreal OG I hope Belibasaki still has fond memories from that EC, that was a truly unexpected medal for Greece
  2. Ivica Kostelic - 478 points in 2010/11 season (ten races). It was the only time the slalom globe was won with a score below 500 points (since the 92/93 season when 100 points for the win was introduced). So even if Kristoffersen wins in Courchevel, this will be a new "record"
  3. This is very curious, Polish ES commentator Marcin Szafranski was raving about Ljutic during the WOG and said he thinks this girl can become a real superstar and I said to myself are we having another Ana Jelusic hype talk here but maybe he was a little right about her?
  4. Yeah, that was the third group game when the opponents finally scored in skittles. The actual playing style was terrible, that team was never supposed to even win one game. Hah! Poland always has issues vs Scandinavian teams. Sweden has been our bogey opponent for years, first of all in the 1990 WC qualifying match which we supposedly threw away on purpose (a draw would be enough for England to qualify on goal difference ahead of Sweden). It was shortly after the communism fell and players were still looking to get any hardware income. We last beat Sweden in a friendly game in 1977 This is the WC qualifying match from October 1989. A handball on the goal line (at 2:18) wasn't penalised with a red card back then
  5. Bayern is slightly different level. Under Michniewicz Lewandowski might as well run around the midfield circle 95% of the time. We lived through this when Fornalik was our head coach in the 2014 WC qualifying Mateusz Klich will be suspended for the SWE/CZE game.
  6. We got a new head coach who is a complete "park the bus" guy. Playing Poland might be the easier part of the double if you can hold off Lewandowski. I mean we played Sweden at the Euros not so long ago When Michniewicz was the coach of our U-21 team in Euro qualifying we drew with Faroe Islands twice(!) but in the finals we beat Belgium and Italy. His park the bus tactics always does well vs better teams
  7. FIFA made it official. Poland gets a bye into the playoffs final where they play the winner of Sweden vs Czech Republic
  8. The 2022 league year starts on March 16th but the first bomb just dropped: Seattle Seahawks traded QB Russell Wilson to Denver Broncos for QB Drew Lock and multiple 1st round picks. AFC West just got helluva more difficult. Aaron Rodgers signed a new 4-year deal with Green Bay Packers to quash rumours about him leaving Wisconsin (it was never reasonable to think he leaves a weak NFC North to go to Denver or Pittsburgh Steelers).
  9. Otepaa was always Justyna Kowalczyk's favorite track so I wonder if they cut down on the uphill sections for biathlon? Team Poland will skip the Oslo finale and stage the national champs in Duszniki-Zdroj instead. It's been a terrible season all around so no need to extend the pain beyond Otepaa. Magdalena Gwizdon has been drafted into the World Cup team for Otepaa. It will be her 27th active season on the World Cup (one more than O.E. Bjoerndalen).
  10. Daiki Ito (ski jumping) will retire at the end of the season.
  11. Justyna Swiety-Ersetic 51,04 NR during Polish Indoor championships today.
  12. Some news in the Polish media that Washington Capitals confiscated Ukrainian flags that fans wanted to bring to the arena? I suppose Ovechkin's status means the Capitals will pretend nothing is happening out there in the world?
  13. Stina Nilsson 9/10 and looking at PB. 10/10 and she'd probably won it.
  14. Either Hanna Oeberg cross shoot at the wrong range or the graphics is wrong?
  15. To nobody's surprise wins the women's team event by over 100 points. Japan takes silver and Germany bronze after their last jumper touched the snow with her hand.
  16. Who was the last French winner not named Worley? Sandrine Aubert? 16th place for Maryna Gasienica-Daniel... in a Super G!
  17. Haas F1 team officially parted ways with Uralkali & Nikita Mazepin.
  18. Another pathetic performance by Polish women in the mixed. Overall we even lost to the lowly Finland who had one jump DQ If Loutitt wasn't at WJC we'd finish behind Canada too
  19. Justyna Swiety-Ersetic winning the World Indoor Tour means can enter three women in individual 400m
  20. Michael Andretti is running the Andretti Autosport teams. And he applied for F1 charter slot from 2024 but he could take over Haas' spot if a new title sponsor isn't found. Speaking of which, more rumours start to cycle around that Mazepin will be axed and Pietro Fittipaldi will replace him full-time. The delay is obviously down to money, Banco do Brasil could hand out the millions but it's Haas in the desperate position so I reckon there are still negotiations over the actual ammount of $$$.
  21. Daniel Tschofenig kills the competition with 107 meters in the 2nd round and claims gold medal. sweep the podium with Haagen & Mueller in minor medals. Enzo Milesi in 7th so maybe there is some hope for the French men's future?
  22. 1-2-3 after Round 1 with pre-event favorite Tschofenig leading by over four points.
  23. 16 jumpers left in the men's first round and the jury lowers the gate by 4!
