Nope, same old. Mexico wins Gold Cup 1-0 in the final over Panama.
-
And it's over! Carlos Alcaraz wins in five sets!
-
Natalia Kaczmarek 49.48 PB in 400 (running behind Klaver usually works, 49.81 PB for her).
-
Before this Wimbledon Vondrousova has won a grand total of TWO WTA main draw matches on grass in her career (vs Zheng Saisai in 2019 & vs Anett Kontaveit in 2021). I suppose grass is truly the green clay these days
-
Marketa Vondrousova wins Wimbledon 6-4 6-4 in the final. Jabeur totally screwed the pooch as the pre-match favorite. She won't have a better chance to win a GS IMO. 0-3 in GS finals now.
-
Vondrousova takes the first set 6-4. Jabeur unable to handle the pressure as pre-match favprite which is old story tbh.

Well, I don't know what's more overhyped now, the US team or Mexico's decline? I kinda hope Panama wins the final
-
I suppose majority of the crowd will support Carlos Alcaraz in the final?
-
Well, Świątek has to defend USO title next so this debate will return in seven weeks time
-
Ons Jabeur beats Aryna Sabalenka 6-7(5) 6-4 6-3 in the second SF so we are guaranteed a new GS champion for women.
-
Marketa Vondrousova beats Elina Svitolina 6-3 6-3 in the first women's SF. Over in the girls tournament Alina Korneeva is into SF so still on course to win her third junior GS in a row. She plays Nikola Bartunkova next. Renata Jamrichova is also into girls SF @hckošice
-
Aryna Sabalenka is one win away from becoming the new WTA #1 (by reaching the final she will have 50 pts more than Świątek - 9365 to 9315). However Świątek plays Warsaw next week so she could reclaim the lead unless Sabalenka wins Wimbledon which would make her lead safe until Montreal.

Formula 1 FIA World Championship 2023
Monzanator replied to Totallympics's topic in Non-Olympic Sports
Daniel Ricciardo has replaced Nyck De Vries in AlphaTauri for remainder of the season. Not exactly shocking news since rumours about De Vries living in borrowed time were floating for a while. -
Elina Svitolina vs Marketa Vondrousova is the first women SF. Whomever comes out of the bottom half will be a favorite in the final. Moreover Aryna Sabalenka can become the new #1 if she wins the whole tournament.
-
It's the same bunch of politicians anyway. Erdogan just won the elections and he controls the immigrant routes. Last thing EU needs is another immigrant problem in the middle of the war of Ukraine. If Republicans win the next Presidental elections they could pull off the NATO support from Ukraine as "too expensive" for domestic economy. Guess what happens if that proves to be the case?
-
Yeah, so the question is what Erdogan & Turkey got in return for this approval?
-
Women's QF: Iga Świątek vs Elina Svitolina Jessica Pegula vs Marketa Vondrousova Elena Rybakina vs Ons Jabeur Madison Keys vs Aryna Sabalenka
-
Well, Azarenka has made so many millions by now that she can afford to live whenever she wants to. But she started out as Lukashenka's protegee and received significant loans from one of Belarussian businessmen (Peftiev) who has long sponsored various tennis players. There are more layers to this story but under no condition Azarenka should be considered an American (though her son has citizenship since he was born in USA)
-
@hckošice@heywooduYeah, that makes sense. Told you a few days of delay is no big deal (for the owner anyway ). Now you'll have a special reserve food when another pigeon stumbles upon Slovakian landscape
-
Obviously Svitolina didn't, Azarenka went straight to the chair since obviously she knew there will be no handshake and there was only a hand wave between them. Anyway, Azarenka led 7-4 in STB and lost the next four points, Svitolina finished it with an ace on MP #2. Martina Navratilova was in the BBC booth and didn't understand why the crowd boo'ed Azarenka. Geez, for someone who escaped a communist country she should know exactly what's going on. Unless that was so long ago maybe she forgot why she escaped Czechoslovakia to begin with?
-
Elina Svitolina takes out Victoria Azarenka 2-6 6-4 7-6(9) and she got some applause for that. Azarenka got loud boos
-
Iga Świątek saves 2 MP and takes out Belinda Bencic 6-7(4) 7-6(2) 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals.
