  1. Brief presentation and a visit from a familiar face TOISC 2019 wants to celebrate Denmark's history in not only TISC, as many of you have already noticed, but also the historical musical roots Denmark comes from. During this ceremony, we will have several artists presenting the musical history of Denmark. At first, we are not going far back in our musical history, as this artist has written some of the most recent history of Denmark in TISC. We are happy to welcome last year's winner, Tina Dickow!
  2. Good evening, Totallympics! Velkommen til Danmark! It's an honour for the Host Jury to welcome you all to the Opening Ceremony for TISC Open 2019. We have tried our best to welcome all participants with open arms here to small and beautiful Denmark. Without you, we could not make TOTALLYMPICS INTERNATIONAL SONG CONTEST. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. First we want to present what our small, but beautiful country can offer. Enjoy!
  3. Announcement Hello, Totallympians The Host Jury would like inform all that the Opening Ceremony will begin in one hour, 18:00 (CET). We hope many of you will follow it.
  4. Roskilde Station - Photo: Slaunger - Wiki We can now welcome @Werloc, @justony and @Belle to what many calls the capitol of Danish Music, Roskilde. This is also the city where Communions can be said to have had their breakthrough. Roskilde dates to about 1000 AD and became the Christian center of Denmark only some 20 years later. The city grew rapidly due to the important role of the church where Roskilde was the preferred city to whoever wanted to stay close to the important people of the Danish church. Slowly the city declined as Copenhagen grew and with the Reformation the city lost it’s position as religious center. With the introduction of the Railway the city became a major city again becoming a bit of a satellite city. Nowadays Roskilde is the 10th largest city in Denmark, but for one week every year it’s unofficially the 4th largest as 130.000 guests from all around the world visit for the Roskilde Festival, one of the most popular music festivals in Europe. Roskilde Cathedral - Photo: Jens Cederskjold - Wiki In sports, FC Roskilde plays in the Danish 1st division in football. Roskilde will also host the start of the 2nd Stage of the 2021 Tour de France. Several major sports stars are however from Roskilde, among who Thomas Ebert from the legendary Danish lightweight coxless four winning Olympic gold in both 2004 and 2008, men’s doubles silver medalist in badminton, Carsten Mogensen and F1-driver Kevin Magnussen are among the more well-known. Roskilde Festival - Orange Stage - Photo: Bill Ebbesen - Wiki We will make sure that you will be able to spend your time here. Roskilde Cathedral with the tombs of most Danish kings and queens and the Viking Ship museum are both very interesting historical sights, while the former Roskilde Royal Mansion has a lovely museum of contemporary art. And of course, as you’re here for a music contest, we would very much advice you to visit Ragnarock, museum of rock, pop and youth culture.
  5. The host jury has two announcements: Firstly, the host jury should have sent voting templates to all national juries. If one or more national juries haven't received their voting templates yet then please contact the host jury. Secondly, the host jury would like some help from one or two users on Saturday. One of the jurors in the host jury will not be present during the whole Grand final and therefore the host jury would like one or two users to help updating the standing in the TISC Team Challenge after every national jury has presented their votes as the host jury will focus on updating the scoreboard and post voting templates for those national juries which are not present on Saturday.
  6. Sønderborg Station - Photo: Beethoven9 - Wiki Well, hello there @Gianlu33, @Henry_Leon, @Pablita, @SteveParker, @Skijumpingmaster and @Wanderer to Sønderborg, birthplace of Raveonettes bassist Sune Wagner. I hope the bus ride was comfortable enough! The history of Sønderborg is too long to mention it all, but it really starts between 1170 and 1230 where Sønderborg Castle was built as a part of the defense against enemies from the South. The city grew and became an important harbor, especially for the trade with the Hanseatic cities in Northern Germany. The former king Christian II was held prisoner in the castle after he tried to retake the nation after losing it to bad decisions in 1523. 341 years later, the city was close to the centre of attention once again during the 2nd Schleswig War, where the most famous battle, the battle of Dybbøl, happened just a few km away and Sønderborg was bombarded as well. After the Danish defeat, Sønderborg and the rest of Schleswig became German territory and was so until 1920. In 1919 a famous historic myth even tells that the German soldier Bruno Topff created the “Republic of Als” in Sønderborg. In 1920 it became Danish again after a referendum and has been so ever since. Sønderborg Castle - Photo: Erik Christensen - Wiki When it comes to sports, Sønderborg isn’t one of the most famous Danish cities. It will however host the finish of the 3rd stage of the 2021 Tour de France. Meanwhile the handball legend Lars Christiansen and former PGA Championships 3rd place Anders Hansen are among the wellknown athletes from the city. Dybbøl Mill - Photo: Erik Christensen - Wiki As it’s very clear, there are certainly plenty of history to get to know with the castle and Dybbøl within a short distance, as well as several other historical sites to see while strolling around. You could also enjoy the lovely nature and of course the coastline. And of course, you can’t be in Southern Jutland without having a go at a classic Sønderjysk Kaffebord!

  14. ... I'm very disappointed. However, I expected someone like you would do something like that.
  15. What!! Are you telling me you have had an affair with my TISC mistress!
  16. South Africa Yvonne Chaka Chaka - Umqombothi
  17. Discus throw could also likely be cut from Diamond League. Daniel Ståhl is obviously quite frustrated about this. Besides, his current coach, who has been a big part of Ståhl's progress, has said he will retire from athletics if discus throw is cut from Diamond League. The main reason is that the overall prize money in discus will go down if it is no longer part of Diamond League and his coach will likely have to spend more of his own money traveling with Ståhl.
  18. Some news about next year's Diamond League Source: IAAF (https://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-diamond-league/news/diamond-league-2020-season-meetings) "The Diamond League General Assembly has today agreed on 14 meetings and 1 final for the 2020 season, which includes all current meetings. Gateshead will replace Birmingham as a venue, as Birmingham’s stadium is being redeveloped for the 2022 Commonwealth Games so is not available to host the IAAF Diamond League, and there will be a second Diamond League meeting in China. The dates for the Diamond League meetings in 2020 are listed below. A discussion was held on the disciplines to be included in the 90-minute international broadcast window with a review of the fan, athlete and broadcast research. Further work is being undertaken on whether each meeting is able to host 11 or 12 Diamond League disciplines in the set time frame and which events each meeting will host outside the 90-minute broadcast window. A final decision on the disciplines will be made at the beginning of November 2019. The IAAF will also launch a second international series of one-day meetings in 2020 (entitled the World Athletics Continental Tour), which will provide world-class competition, top flight world ranking points and earning opportunities for many more athletes, with a focus on those disciplines not featuring regularly in the Diamond League, and which will be broadcast around the world. The world rankings system will be structured so that athletes in every discipline will earn the same level of points at their highest available one-day meeting series, whether that is in the Diamond League or the new tour". The dates for the Diamond League meetings in 2020 are: Doha - 17 April China (venue to be advised) - 10 May Shanghai - 16 May Stockholm - 24 May Rome - 28 May Rabat - 31 May Eugene - 7 June Oslo - 11 June Paris - 13 June London - 4 July Monaco - 10 July Gateshead - 16 August Lausanne - 20 August Brussels - 4 September Zurich - 11 September

  20. It's not official yet that the national jury doesn't participate. When the host jury presents the official TISC Team Challenge format next week, it will be confirmed if and juries will participate.
  21. Festival of Music begins! The member of the Egyptian jury couldn't wait, so let the Festival of Music begin! For those who are new to TISC, Festival of Music is an opportunity for any TISC participant to present songs and artists from nations who are not represented at this year's TISC Open. All participants of TOISC 2019 can write a post about which nation or nations they would to like present in Festival of Music. Usually a TISC participant can present up to two entries from two different nations. Remember, the same rules apply to entries in Festival of Music as TOISC 2019. Artists must be from or associated with the nation they represent, and entries must have been released on or before December 31st, 2014. Enjoy the festival!
  22. A short announcement from the Organizing Host Committee: A flight is on its way with most of the jury members who missed the flight yesterday. Sadly 3 jury members, @stefanbg, @Canada4thewin, @Jan Linha, never showed up. The three jury members only option to come to Denmark is to buy a ticket themself. The host jury will inform the confirmed participants for TOISC 2019 at some point in the upcoming week how this will affect the TISC Team Challenge. For now, the organizing committee and host jury wil do their best to welcome the last national juries and create the best experience for all national juries during their stay in Denmark.
  23. Well at least and are placed close to each other in the voting order.
  24. It's unbelievable there is still no one on Team Dizzy Mizz Lizzy!
