  1. The Host Jury would still like if one or more users could help updating the standing of the TISC Team Challenge during the Grand Final.
  2. Only one hour left until the 2019 TOISC Grand Final begins! Some Australian fans have found their way to Odense. Here are some outside Arena Fyn: A good delegation of Dutch fans are also here today in Arena Fyn:
  3. So I just came home after a good night out with my friends, and Séamus, in downtown Odense. It's 05:00 am here in Denmark and in 7 hours the Grand Final starts. I think it would be a good idea to set an alarm, just in case. I hope you are all ready for tomorrow´s Grand Final? I am, hopefully.
  4. Some would argue their outfits sexualise women more than the necassary.
  5. Here some examples from my city The biggest controversy is the famous "nissepiger". They come to the bars with beers, but their outfits are a bit special...
  6. I'm also happy about that, as it is today the Christmas beers of the big brands are released in Denmark. I can get up to 5 free beers the first hour at my local bar, but I'm not going to stop after that. I think I'm going to regret this tomorrow...
  7. As we reach the last stop on our journey... We have come to the end of the Opening Ceremony for TOISC 2019, and as a TISC-tradition prescribes, the scoreboard for this edtion of TISC will now be presented. Grand Final Scoreboard CROATIA SLOVAKIA P.R. OF CHINA BRAZIL NETHERLANDS NORWAY LITHUANIA ROMANIA HUNGARY IRELAND ALGERIA EGYPT MALTA SWEDEN MOLDOVA PORTUGAL ITALY MEXICO GREECE INDIA TUNISIA FRANCE DENMARK INDONESIA UNITED STATES FINLAND GREAT BRITAIN ARGENTINA CHILE POLAND CANADA AUSTRALIA SLOVENIA NEW ZEALAND SPAIN SERBIA KAZAKHSTAN As this is a song contest, it would be fitting to end it all with a song. We will sing a song many Danes consider the unoffical national song, "I Danmark er jeg født", written by Denmark's and Odense's own author, H.C. Andersen. Thanks to all who took their time to follow the Opening Ceremony. We hope many of you will be with us tomorrow when the 2019 TOISC Grand Final will begin at 12:00 (CET). Goodnight and let us all sing-along! Lyrics:
  8. 2019 TOISC Logo The logo for TOISC 2019 can finally be revealed! The Host Jury will be honest and say it has not been easy to come to this final product, due to the lack of any creative sense from the members of the Host Jury with regards to designing a logo. The Host Jury has had many struggles throughout the process due to many unconstructed ideas. With all of this said, it's only suitable to thank the amazing @vinipereira and his magical skills when it comes to logo designs. It would have never been possible to create a logo without your help. A big thank you, @vinipereira, from the bottom of the members of the Host Jury's hearts. The colour scheme of the logo is inspired by the colours in the Totallympics' logo and the host country, Denmark. The font should have symbolized the historic focus the host jury has had in this TISC, but it symbolizes something more of a Disney aesthetics. The D in particular has been a talking point, as it screams Disney. However, in an afterthought, it is quite fitting to have something which is more Disney inspired, as one of Denmark's most renowned authors Hans Christian Andersen's work, "The Little Mermaid", is a classic disney tale. The two singing birds illustrate the many different musical styles, genres and cultures TISC embody, as all songs in each single edition of TISC create their own unique "note" for that specific edition of TISC.
  9. The Oaths of TISC Competitors' Oath Eros Ramazzotti, Italy "In the name of all competitors, I promise that we shall take part in this Contest, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern TISC - committing ourselves to a competition that values respect and the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of music and the honor of our nations!" Jury Members' Oath Fly_like_a_don, India "In the name of all the jury members, I promise that we shall adjudicate in our deliberations at this Contest with complete impartiality, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern TISC in the true spirit of sportsmanship!" Hosts' Oath Agger and Wumo, Denmark "We promise that we shall organize this Contest, respecting and abiding by the rules that govern TISC - committing ourselves to overseeing a competition that values respect and promotes the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of music and the honor of our nations!"
  10. Historical notes Folk songs and stories in Denmark have been widely used to tell stories about heroes' achievements and the life of king and queens in the Middle ages, but also about what consequences the common people's actions could have on their life. The former TISC participant, Myrkur, will sing two tales. The first one is a Danish folk song from the late 1500s about Queen Dagmar (wife of Valdemar Sejr). She was known as the Queen of the people because she wished her husband, the king, would lower taxes for the farmers and free the many prisoners who were held in castle dungeons. She allegedly died giving birth in her bed, around age 23. Afterwards she will sing about a man named Ramund. A man who goes to battle with the Jætter/trolls and then sails to the emperor to take his daughter to marry and then decapitates the emperor. Lastly, we will present the folk group, Virelai. They will sing about a common woman, Agnete, who is lured by a beautiful merman to the bottom of the sea. However, the merman was a test of Agnete's faith to her husband. As a consequence of her action, she is forced to live the rest of her life on the bottom of the sea with no possibility to see her children and husband again.
  11. Funen has much to experience What cultural and natural experiences can the birthplace of Denmark's most celebrated author, H. C. Andersen, might offer? Let us take you a tour around the island.
  12. Follow in Denmark's historical footsteps Music is often accompanied by dance. Historically, music and dance are very integrated parts of the Danish cultural history. Folk and traditional dance has played an important cultural role for many common people throughout Danish history as a way of celebrating important life events and create strong social bonds inside the small communities.
  13. Welcome to Odense and Funen! For the first time in TISC's History, Odense has the honour as host city. Odense has done its best to prepare for this big event, but the city of Odense could not have achieved this alone. Many people from the rest of Funen have contributed to make this possible. We want to show what Funen and Odense can offer those who visit this beautiful, hilly, green island which is placed in the heart of Denmark.
  14. Brief presentation and a visit from a familiar face TOISC 2019 wants to celebrate Denmark's history in not only TISC, as many of you have already noticed, but also the historical musical roots Denmark comes from. During this ceremony, we will have several artists presenting the musical history of Denmark. At first, we are not going far back in our musical history, as this artist has written some of the most recent history of Denmark in TISC. We are happy to welcome last year's winner, Tina Dickow!
  15. Good evening, Totallympics! Velkommen til Danmark! It's an honour for the Host Jury to welcome you all to the Opening Ceremony for TISC Open 2019. We have tried our best to welcome all participants with open arms here to small and beautiful Denmark. Without you, we could not make TOTALLYMPICS INTERNATIONAL SONG CONTEST. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. First we want to present what our small, but beautiful country can offer. Enjoy!
  16. Announcement Hello, Totallympians The Host Jury would like inform all that the Opening Ceremony will begin in one hour, 18:00 (CET). We hope many of you will follow it.
  17. Roskilde Station - Photo: Slaunger - Wiki We can now welcome @Werloc, @justony and @Belle to what many calls the capitol of Danish Music, Roskilde. This is also the city where Communions can be said to have had their breakthrough. Roskilde dates to about 1000 AD and became the Christian center of Denmark only some 20 years later. The city grew rapidly due to the important role of the church where Roskilde was the preferred city to whoever wanted to stay close to the important people of the Danish church. Slowly the city declined as Copenhagen grew and with the Reformation the city lost it’s position as religious center. With the introduction of the Railway the city became a major city again becoming a bit of a satellite city. Nowadays Roskilde is the 10th largest city in Denmark, but for one week every year it’s unofficially the 4th largest as 130.000 guests from all around the world visit for the Roskilde Festival, one of the most popular music festivals in Europe. Roskilde Cathedral - Photo: Jens Cederskjold - Wiki In sports, FC Roskilde plays in the Danish 1st division in football. Roskilde will also host the start of the 2nd Stage of the 2021 Tour de France. Several major sports stars are however from Roskilde, among who Thomas Ebert from the legendary Danish lightweight coxless four winning Olympic gold in both 2004 and 2008, men’s doubles silver medalist in badminton, Carsten Mogensen and F1-driver Kevin Magnussen are among the more well-known. Roskilde Festival - Orange Stage - Photo: Bill Ebbesen - Wiki We will make sure that you will be able to spend your time here. Roskilde Cathedral with the tombs of most Danish kings and queens and the Viking Ship museum are both very interesting historical sights, while the former Roskilde Royal Mansion has a lovely museum of contemporary art. And of course, as you’re here for a music contest, we would very much advice you to visit Ragnarock, museum of rock, pop and youth culture.
  18. The host jury has two announcements: Firstly, the host jury should have sent voting templates to all national juries. If one or more national juries haven't received their voting templates yet then please contact the host jury. Secondly, the host jury would like some help from one or two users on Saturday. One of the jurors in the host jury will not be present during the whole Grand final and therefore the host jury would like one or two users to help updating the standing in the TISC Team Challenge after every national jury has presented their votes as the host jury will focus on updating the scoreboard and post voting templates for those national juries which are not present on Saturday.
  19. Sønderborg Station - Photo: Beethoven9 - Wiki Well, hello there @Gianlu33, @Henry_Leon, @Pablita, @SteveParker, @Skijumpingmaster and @Wanderer to Sønderborg, birthplace of Raveonettes bassist Sune Wagner. I hope the bus ride was comfortable enough! The history of Sønderborg is too long to mention it all, but it really starts between 1170 and 1230 where Sønderborg Castle was built as a part of the defense against enemies from the South. The city grew and became an important harbor, especially for the trade with the Hanseatic cities in Northern Germany. The former king Christian II was held prisoner in the castle after he tried to retake the nation after losing it to bad decisions in 1523. 341 years later, the city was close to the centre of attention once again during the 2nd Schleswig War, where the most famous battle, the battle of Dybbøl, happened just a few km away and Sønderborg was bombarded as well. After the Danish defeat, Sønderborg and the rest of Schleswig became German territory and was so until 1920. In 1919 a famous historic myth even tells that the German soldier Bruno Topff created the “Republic of Als” in Sønderborg. In 1920 it became Danish again after a referendum and has been so ever since. Sønderborg Castle - Photo: Erik Christensen - Wiki When it comes to sports, Sønderborg isn’t one of the most famous Danish cities. It will however host the finish of the 3rd stage of the 2021 Tour de France. Meanwhile the handball legend Lars Christiansen and former PGA Championships 3rd place Anders Hansen are among the wellknown athletes from the city. Dybbøl Mill - Photo: Erik Christensen - Wiki As it’s very clear, there are certainly plenty of history to get to know with the castle and Dybbøl within a short distance, as well as several other historical sites to see while strolling around. You could also enjoy the lovely nature and of course the coastline. And of course, you can’t be in Southern Jutland without having a go at a classic Sønderjysk Kaffebord!

  21. The host jury hasn't heard anything from the Bulgarian jury, hence it seems that Bulgaria doesn't participate in TOISC 2019.
  22. You can post 2 song per nation. It's not an official rule, but more precedent in TISC.
  23. On Saturday between 18:00-20:00, the official format and guidelines for TISC Team Challenge will be presented and at that time it will be known which national juries will participate. In short, you can probably post your entry in Festival of Music on Sunday.
