Gold goes to Ashley Thiner , with Laura Burgos upgraded to silver @mrv86. will also receive a bronze medal in the event now. Francesca Parrello loses her bronze medal in Powerlifting (Women’s Heavyweight). Cicera Tavares will be awarded the bronze @Laraja @vinipereira @thiago_simoes also had an athlete from their women’s lacrosse team sanctioned, but it will not cost the team their medal (just the individual athlete). @phelps I've got some bad news for you buddy. Jutta Leerdam has confirmed the rumours of last week are true and she's in a relationship with.....Jake Paul, some YouTube guy who is mostly known for being....well, a bit of an uncivilized fellow, so to say. The chapter 'Controversies and legal issues' on his Wikipedia is almost longer than the rest, which should probably tell you enough about the kind of character this is2 points

Dressage Olympic Rankings updated as of April 3rd, 20231 point
-
As I said previously, these rankings are still imprecise because the Olympic Qualification Ranking's period starts today, so only the competitions from now on will count. But, according to the current ranking for Men's Foil, isn't taking a quota. The individiual rankings give 6 quotas, being 1 for Americas, 1 Africa, 2 Asia/Oceania and 2 Europe. and are the best two countries from Europe right now, which didn't take Team Quotas.1 point

Olympic ranking qualification simulation for dressage as of March 31st... Dressage Group A - Group B - Group C - Groups D/E - Group F - Group G - Overall -1 point
-
Yeah, actually that ranking is still imprecise, because it started today... but FIE has cancelled all the events, so in fact it will start only at the end of the month, with the first events... Anyway, once officially the Fencing Olympic Qualifications starts today, I think it's good to have an overview about each country chances1 point

To be fair, sports that need the Olympic status to be a competitive sport might need to take a good hard look at themselves (and yes, I know that'll be a majority of sports)1 point -

only because it's not an Olympic sport. give them a proper recognition and the sport (which already have more Countries participating at the world champs than the artificial track luge) will bump up their numbers and will have a lot more competitive Nations. look at Karate...it used to have the same old 5/6 Countries at the top...then suddenly there were at least 30 Nations with legitimate gold medal ambitions when it entered the Olympic program...now, a year and a half after the Olympic dismissal, it's back to the usual suspects. it's the Olympic status that makes a sport great, not vice versa. p.s. my first intention was just a joke...but I see that the argument has been taken seriously way more than I expected...1 point

A fun possibility with the inclusion of natural track luge is the simultaneous inclusion of ice cross downhill. You could have natural track luge the first week, and then take a few days in the middle of the Games to remodel the track and prepare it for two or three days of ice cross downhill at the end of the Games.1 point -

With both Australia and Samoa failing to reach the cup quarterfinals, South Africa has moved into the final Olympic quota position. Ireland and the United States did enough to keep pace while Fiji is getting closer to solidifying their spot to the games. The fight for the final core team spot is interesting as Spain leapfrogged Uruguay while Kenya lost ground overall.1 point -

Great news for Ski Jumping. Hektor Kapustík did qualify for the World Cup after earning points in the Continental Cup in Zakopane. We are not going to use this quota this season, Hektor chosed rather to move it to the next season and want jump in Wisla or Zakopane Last ski Jumper in WC was Tomáš Zmoray 12 years ago !1 point
