I definitely felt he had a chance to win it if he beats Axelsen. He is in great form and improving day by day .2 points -
I do believe Gu Ailing will have huge home Olympics, also Aerials can very well end by a complete golds sweep for China. I have no idea about Speed Skating to be fair, this is probably the sole WOG sport I have currently zero knowledge about current situations so I will believe in your prediction here My biggest concern is about Short Track, this is so unpredictable sport with tones of penalties during the races, that it can perfectly end by your prediction of 6 medals (3 golds) but also somehow without a single one as well You know that I am mostly interested on hockey, which usually mostly steals all my attentions during the WOG watching/analyzing/living all games so I am more interesting how your team(s) will perform there. I hope given the circumstances it will at the end fulfills the main purpose of this whole project, to help growing the popularity of the sport in China and it will not be just a one event episode like many are affraid of. However good luck to all your olympic team, it is always good for the games themselves when a "relatively" small () winter sports country do very good at home WOG.2 points

Well, at least a higher ranked athlete will get to go instead of one who can't read the rules for herself.2 points -
The Olympic trials will be held at the brand new “Centre de Glace” in Quebec City from December 27th to 31st. I believe this is the first time since 1984 that Calgary will not hold the Olympic trials.2 points

Based on the qualification document, the Netherlands either needs to finish in the top 12 in the ranking list or have a top 8 World Cup result. They only have two more races remaining and their best result is 11th. Seems unlikely, but possible...1 point -

Biathlon IBU Cup 2021 - 2022

Chile did not make it past the first leg before they were lapped. I almost wish that in the IBU Junior Cup and IBU Cup that teams would not be removed from the race when they were lapped. How else is Chile supposed to get better? I hope the team got some really good training and can find a local race or two prior to their return to South America. With Dale and Knotten going for Norway in the Single Mixed Relay, I am not too sure how long Argentina will last as well. Mixed Relay results: Russia Norway Italy Switzerland1 point -

Not sure if it's coincidence, but while she was a DNF in the IBU Cup Thursday (and not on the start list yesterday), all of a sudden she is in the freestyle mass start in St Ulrich today, her first XC race since those worlds in February! Yesterday she wasn't in the classic individual start, so it's kind of like she all of a sudden went there.. Not sure it went right though, since she was ahead of a Mexican who has now finished, whereas Ponya has disappeared from the timing after the last intermediate (where she was already pretty far behind, under 300 wasn't gonna happen).1 point -
I must admit 9 golds is an optimistic estimate. The official expectation is 6 golds but I insist my prediction (there are many events by scoring you know).1 point

My early prediction of China. It's a relatively optimistic version as the host. I may update the prediction when most skiing world cups finished. Speed Skating 2 medals (1 gold) - Men's 500m and 1500m Short Track Speed Skating 6 medals (3 golds) - Men's 500m/1000m/1500m, Men/Women/Mixed Relay Figure Skating 1 medal (1 gold) - Pairs Curling 1 medal - Women's Team Skeleton 1 medal - Men's Skeleton Freestyle Skiing 6 medals (3 golds) - Men/Women/Mixed Aerials, Women's Halfpipe/Slopestyle/Big Air Snowboarding 2 medals (1 gold) - Men's Big Air and Women's Halfpipe Total 19 medals and 9 golds1 point
