On Friday I found that the closest metro station to La Pintana was 5 km away from it... I went by taxi. It didn't accept cards, and I had no pesos, so I overpaid in dollars. I returned on bus with no issues. The stadium is next to three car junkyards (like the Peter Capusotto meme). However the Carabineros kept the place safe. The Teros won both Saturday matches, though they had already missed the semifinals. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed it more than the field hockey.

Pool A will involve teams not eligible for Olympic qualification. Top two advance to the semifinals where they will face each other. Pool B and C will consist of eligible nations, the winners will advance to the semifinals where they will play each other for Olympic qualification. Loser goes to the final repechage tournament. The second place teams in Pool B and C will play each other for the second spot in the repechage tournament. Four members of the team have been removed from the squad for disciplinary reasons (drinking alcohol after a warm-up game vs USA last week). FIFA won't allow a special replacement by all accounts so we're gonna participate with 14 field players + 3 GK

Pool A will consist of Australia and New Zealand. They will play each other four times and both will advance to the semifinals and play each other again. Group B and C will consist of nations eligible for Olympic qualification. The top two will advance to the Olympic qualifier semifinals. The winner will qualify to the Olympics and play against the winner of Australia/New Zealand. Insane innings by Maxwell. Surely one of the best ODI knock of all-time. Tough luck . Their inexperience showed in the later stages of the game when they didn't have any idea about how to stop Maxwell who could not even run. A football analogy I read about Maxwell's innings was "This was like a player scoring 8 goals in last 10 mins of a game after pulling a hamstring and when his team is down 7-0"

the male Flagbearer will be Giovanni Pellielo for sure (I bet nobody will have the "huevos" to leave him out, now that he's personally earned the quota place for the team), I fear the female Flagbearer is more of a mistery (I think it won't be a shooter because of Pellielo, however) it can't be Caterina Banti nor a gymnast because of the schedule, too I'd say it might be up to Irma Testa and Antonella Palmisano (or maybe Simona Quadarella or a Fencer) p.s. personally, I'd really like to see Sinner and Egonu as Flagbearers, just to get half the people in this fuckin' Country completely mad

In cross-country skiing most World Cups still have most of the top athletes (not always all, no), but also: the cross-country World Cup is a consistent season. It starts in November and until March or so we've got competition almost every week, with always some focus on the World Cup standings (the overall especially). In speed skating, there's a handful of World Cups and that's it, and there's always more big names missing, especially when going to Asia. Besides, there's just never really a focus on the standings. Not even the overall ones, let alone the little globes (if they even have globes for the sub-classifications? No idea)

We still have chances in WQT & also through the world rankings but that would be just a month before Olympics. Hopefully we can get the individual quotas here, to ease pressure & start preparations for Olympics.

Yes Recurve Team ( Men) Final V Gets the Olympic quota , as already have team quota from world championships. It should have been us , this was a great opportunity.
