Looks like our federation will try to change history and achieve some miracles with qualifying a athlete in a combat sport :d We are going to enter athletes in a majority of qualifying tournaments, and Milan Randl somehow decided few weeks ago to change radically everything and  restart his qualifying process from absolute zero. He decided to leave his category and compete the whole Tokyo 2020 cycle in the -90kg class, so he lost in last weeks more than 10 Kg eating only vegetables and meat, he stopped carbohydrates, potatoes and rice  and almost dead after all this he already entered the last weeks GP in Zagreb..

but yeah, again qualifying anyone in combat sport is usually a unattainable challenge for us, so even with all those changes and innovations, I still expect the same amount of combat sports athletes as we had in Rio - a big nil :p

naaa...

this time you have the joker...with Karate in, there's a very good chance you get 1 or maybe even 2 spots...

and with a bit of luck, some  of your Russian wrestlers can also earn a chance (I'd be surprised if Makoev doesn't make it)...

don't be so pessimistic, mate! :d

Yeah, well, this is not about pessimism but rather about my personal gained experiences during last years in this case. too much disappointment, so this time I would rather not expect anything and maybe being pleasantly surprised at the end. :p

I know that it's very early in the process, but seeing 2 Danes on Olympic places (1 direct and one continental spot) right now makes me SO happy! Keep it up, girls! :cheer:

no surprises here...

and I'm happy they're destroying physically and mentally Hifumi Abe and Joshiro Maruyama in the men's -66kg...

I hope their epic fight for the Olympic spot continues until the last useful day, so to have them completely dead and gone in the actual Olympic tournament...

    • At least two of those three only have one single athlete, so won't be very visible
    • As we repeat every two years, roughly: no, this is not going to have 'major consequences'.

    • Suspect this will have major consequences for the Paralympics going forward. Could see a collation of countries wanting to set up up a rivial movement,
    • This is the rule of FIFA : If Iran withdraw  Iraq will qualify even if they lose  If they win Emirats will qualify
    • We will need a lot od changes in our staff after this season and I hope our federation will have the money for that`s. Unfortunately, your staff and ski services blew almost the entire Olympics and now we're still in the same situations. Due to their terrible form, we won 1/2 fewer medals than we actually did. Our team has skis on par with Moldova or Kazakhstan – shame!
    • Anning is not here but the new 400 meters format is (2x final heats of 4 athletes each, combined times decide podium).   Natalia Bukowiecka absolutely blasted it and I guess that's a popular feeling among athletes
