Women's Water Polo Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

Recommended Posts

Damn, our only theoretical chance for a close match, to not say...win, is gone now :d

how will our federation now justify the financial support when they lost their single eventual pretext ? :(

i don't know if any people here have info on south africa ?? and can russia be excluded?

As of now the other teams have accepted the quotas so unless a team decides to withdraw the roster is set.

the winner may have a chance to go to tokyo, in 2016, south africa rejected hockey quotas

South Africa officially accepted this quota. Therefore, they can no longer reject it, but only withdraw. I don't believe South Africa ever withdrew one of their quota places.

This official acceptance of the quota, how is that done? A certain letter or form or something? Just curious about the paperwork that makes things official :d

IFs usually inform NOCs of their earned quota. NOCs then have two weeks to say 'Yes', otherwise the spots get reallocated by default.

Anyone here that has South African citizenship and money to offer to their NOC, this is your chance to be an Olympic athlete

I think it's time for them to just withdraw and let :GRE take their spot in the women's event :p

South Africa not withdrawing? It's a big disgrace. Greece deserves to be there. Our girls just won Euro League again with Olympiacos, all players on the roster are Greeks.

Sorry if this sounds rude but Australia, China, and Canada being automatically in Tokyo is also a joke. They did not have to swim one metre to earn their spots. Pure luck based on what continents they are from. We always beat them too (especially China and Canada), so I don't want to hear it from any of them. You guys know we are better than you too, so don't even try to say otherwise. These teams don't have chances to win a medal. We do.

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
