Since we are nearing the end of the MER period (six more weeks), I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if some of the MERs are not met...

Dressage

Unconfirmed MERs (individual) - :NOR:BER:RSA

Possible reallocation (individual) - :ITA:CHI:SVK

Eventing

Unconfirmed MERs (team) - :THA

Possible reallocation (team) - :RUS

Unconfirmed MERs (individual) - :CHI:PAK:IND

Possible reallocation (individual) - :ECU:FIN:DEN + :LTU:BEL (if Thailand loses and Russia gains a team)

Jumping

Unconfirmed MERs (individual) - :UKR

Possible reallocation (individual) - :POL

I fully expect BER (dressage) and THA/CHI/IND (eventing) to re-confirm their MERs in time. For the rest, we will see.

Bondarieva in Oliva (Spain) in February has a clean start in CSI 3*. Why it is not counted? @dcro

Because it must be CSI3* - Grand Prix.

She was clean at some Table A classes with lower heights.

Now here is an adventure unique to equestrian. Martha Del Valle travelled to Germany a year ago to prepare for the Olympics. But then the Olympics got postponed, and since shipping a horse overseas back and forth is so incredibly inconvenient, she was basically forced to stay in Europe for a whole year and find a job. :)

Anyways, now she is officially selected to be the Mexican representative in dressage. @mrv86

Thanks for the link.

Mexican news had already briefly covered this story, but now I’ll look forward for a more pro media to cover the story.

    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
