But now Armenia can enter an universality woman, as they did today in the 100 m. :p

Yeah, ironically they entered a Greek woman with distant Armenian ancestry (she just started competing for Armenia last week) who is a triple jumper and never ran 100m in her career until last weekend

the small nations, before had 1 man and 1 woman, now it is reduced to 1 quota! It is shameful

Like I said, nobody in the IOC actually cares about gender equality (especially when it concerns developing nations where the equality is very limited).

They just want to make themselves look good.

Seems the Namimbians are out from the 400m.

Vasiliou now has 48th place, which is the last giving an olympic spot.

Obviously I'm thrilled for Vasiliou, especially since she made a long post yesterday on Instagram about not qualifying and how much she was crying and also originally she said she would retire after Tokyo (pre-covid days).

However, I'm really surprised about the Namibians! Does anyone have more information about them? I'm surprised this hasn't really been discussed much.

Well... Mboma and Masilingi are still in the list for 200m. However, their time there, 22.67, for both ranks them out of the top20, not as high as in 400m. With their improvement rate, they could still contend for the final, if they race, but they are not as good as in the 400.

At the moment, Miller-Uibo is still in for 400m and I wonder, if she will reconsider, and choose the 400 over 200.

That's the thing, why would they choose 200m over 400m? It makes zero sense.

Rules for athletes with DSD apply in 400m but not in 200m...

    • It's really funny - the VO has had a constitutional majority for 16 years and someone always blocked him from fulfilling its brilliant plan Without these hostile actions, Hungary would probably have been at the level of Switzerland in terms of GDP a long time ago Btw., in sports, Hungary probably also had better results in the 90s and early 2000s than during the VO era? I mean in the summer, because in the winter, apart from the episode with the Liu brothers - now China in short track, it's probably always been pretty poor level.

    • For me is aimed at domestic consumption. BTW, Brussels and Ukraine is happening at the same time as far as constructed "enemies" are concerned. Does anyone still fall for this? Maybe someone over 80 years for sure.  A couple of years ago (but after the war broke out) an old man (in his own admission he was 82) in a local bar tried to convince me that without Don Vittorio in the government, I would be already fighting in Eastern Ukraine  Needless to say, he was unsuccessful.

    • pdr4332   Explain to me what this Ukraine thing is all about? Isn't this just another Orban tactic to focus on this before the elections, instead of discussing, for example, the fact that during the 16 years of VO's rule in Budapest, Hungary's GDP has fallen from the level of Poland/Czech Republic in 2010 to under Romania's? Does anyone in Hungary still fall for this, because it seems like something like this happens every 4 years: Soros, Brussels, now Ukraine and who will be next
