Sure, the international judicial process isn’t quick. However, the world now has a very good idea of what transpired in both the Yugoslav Wars and the Rwandan Genocide. Of course, not everyone who played a role in those was tried. It wasn’t a perfect or ideal solution.
 

International courts are only as strong as nations let them be. They are flawed, like the UN, but they are still better than nothing. They are tools. People just need to advocate for a better use of them.

Who's suggesting nothing be done?  All the post WWII nations held national trials as well as the international Nuremburg trials.  No reason why they wouldn't still work.

The Sikihist separatist movement has been forgotten by the world too, maybe if they planted a bomb on some plane like they did in the 80s that would be a good reminder but I guess Trudeau wouldn't be so supportive of them instead

That would be improbable since USA, China, Russia and Israel among others don't recognize the International Criminal Court in Hague. We are miles removed from comparing this to the Nuremberg trials and it's easy to see why some people think ICC is a paper tiger. Because quite frankly it is if the two biggest players in the world give it a middle finger salute

International law is about much more than courts and tribunals.

Nobody cares about "international law" unless there are war crimes and genocide on the agenda. Otherwise most countries settle things internally and NEVER ask for any outside help. The exception being puppet states like Belarus asking for Russian "help" and such.

I am curious what is your reading of coverage of India v Canada drama in American media. Is it just a footnote or are they covering it as something big?

Another political fuck up in Canada as an actual former Waffen-SS member was invited to the parliament during Zelensky's visit. Watch Putin jump all over it to further fuel the Russian propaganda.

 

Obviously the Speaker of the House has taken the scapegoat blame to protect Trudeau's image

Domestically this is at worst a footnote on the list of Trudeau’s problems (and also it’s completely believable this didn’t involve the PMO at all, the speaker’s office is very much independent from the government).
