He was involved in one of the most memorable Olympic event for me (I really vivibly remember that first men's ski cross final). Really sad to hear he died in such a random fashion.

There are some rumors about the death of Laura Dahlmaier. That would be shocking.

It has not been confirmed, but it has been confirmed that her situation is very bad (nobody has actually reached her yet, but a fly-over where she fell showed no signs of life):

Never thought I'd be talking in this thread about the person who was basically my favourite athlete in the world, across all sports, for her entire senior career

Rest in peace, Laura Dahlmeier

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
