The  2021 Track Cycling World Championships has been awarded to one of track cycling's "big" nations..... Turkmenistan.

The only results from Turkmenian track cyclists I could find were these:

I'm all for having events in new nations, but surely there are new nations for a track cycling world championships who at least have a bit of half-good recent results in the sport?
