This sounds like he kind of messed up. Maybe he didn't, but that's such a super vague post hinting at it with things like "punish athletes for petty crimes"....

22-time Grand Slam Champion, and one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Rafa Nadal :ESP announced his retirement, with 2024 being his final season on tour

He also pulled out of Roland Garros earlier this week for the first time in his career (His first appearance was 2005) with a lingering hip injury that was suffered at the 2023 Australian Open.

“You can´t keep demanding more and more from your body, because there comes a moment when your body raises a white flag," said Nadal, as his session with the media was carried live in Spain by the state broadcaster's 24-hour sports network. "Even though your head wants to keep going, your body says this is as far it goes."

He hasn’t ruled out a possible return to tour “You never know how things will turn out”, but his intention is “that next year will be my last year”

Really hoping he can win men’s singles gold at the 2024 Olympics, ending his illustrious career off on a high note, and with the Olympic tennis venue being Roland Garros, he’d most likely be a contender (If not favourite) for gold (Even when injured, I wouldn’t count him out. That’s how good he is). Maybe we’ll see him play mixed doubles with Carlos as well?

@GrassmarketWhen it comes to being born on the island the probably yes. Otherwise Nigel Mansell would like to have a word :p

Any number of tax exiles live there, so only being a native counts.

    • Honestly, I think you guys have a much better chance of success here than we do. It's already difficult to maintain this sport, and with this ridiculous format this year, things have gotten even worse. Years and years participating in the elite and we haven't been able to evolve; it was just a waste.

    • Another weak result for our athletics team, which is typical; without Caio or Alisson, our chances of a medal in any high-level tournament are almost zero.   However, Juliana's result in the women's pole vault was a great 7th place. She is improving rapidly and still has a lot of room for growth.

    • some changes in the team and less importance to the sport, the two big teams until 2022/2023 ( and ) in south america started to decrease a lot and in the other hand the 3rd in South America () is growing a lot, is really impressive. We are currently the favourites for the LA2028 quota

    • What happened to Brazil's women's team? On the other hand it looks like Argentina may be the top South American team on the women's side. Defeating Spain, China and South Africa was unlikely up until this year
