New OR for :KOR in the team as well beating their own OR from 2008

:GBR in 9th so will face :ITA and even if we beat that will go out to :KOR I'd imagine

Individually, Bettles came 15th so will face :COL Acosta Giraldo

Pitman came 38th and will face :TPE Tan and

Folkard came 47th and will face :CHN Wu

Probably only Bettles will go through, where she will face the winner of the Folkard/Wu match, and if she survives that will probably face :KOR Jang Minjee who will easily beat her.

So I don't think we will do anything in this event. Even if Pitman beats Tan she faces :MEX Aida Roman next probably. But I wasn't expecting anything in the first place...

Disastrous qualifier for the women's team. Bettle's personally did pretty well, but 9th is a disastrous position - frankly 11th would have suited far better, as Italy or ROC is a bit of a toss-up, but KOR in the quarterfinal is simply terminal. Women's team was GBR's best medal hope, with an outside chance to swing bronze if the draw fell right. That's pretty much gone now.

Good chance for Mexican team to fight for the medals.

It will be hard for individuals, but again in 2012, Roman and a teenage Avitia proved the world Koreans aren’t undefeatable.

Marie Horácková :CZE got doable opponent for the 1st round. :JPN Miki Nakamura as the worst ranked out of home archer is surely beatable!! Wish her to make it at least to the 2nd round!!

Btw, really nice PB for :SVK Baranková and 12th spot in the ranking round ???

    • The women's weights are okay given the distribution of competitors. The men's weights are definitely underweight. Adding 2-3kg in each event would make it more balanced.

    • c'mon! stop those idiots! they're trying hard to ruin athletics in almost every aspect (road running, field events, the same cross country that has already been killed in practice)   please, someone shoot to death Coe and his accolades as soon as possible!!!
    • That's only if they don't listen to Trump's 48 hour deadline. But that is permanently 48 hours away, since, well, TACO.
    • I agree NO to Poomsae!!!   I think they plan to introduce 6 weight classes after LA instead of 8 right now, and those 6 should become Olympic instead of current 4 weights. Going forward world and Olympic ranking could be identical.    But it’s not clear if that means more quotas. Having 6 classes with 64 athletes per gender would be a joke. A reasonable taekwondo competition needs at least 16 athletes per weightclass. But I am not sure taekwondo can get another 64 quotas in total, I doubt it.    beside that I am not happy with the newly proposed weight classes, they give much more focus on light weight athletes, which will be an advantage for Asian countries mainly.    if the proposal is accepted the new weightclasses will be:    Female: 46kg, 51kg, 57kg, 63kg,70kg and +70kg    Male: 54kg, 60kg, 67kg,74kg, 82kg, +82kg
