:CAN Canada qualified 373 athletes + 9 alternates in team sports per the new IOC rule for these games, for a total of 382 athletes (149 men and 233 women). This is the third largest amount of athletes Canada has qualified for one games after Montreal 1976 and Los Angeles 1984. This means this is the largest team ever qualified excluding hosting or boycotted games. Barring any last minute reallocation, this should be the final team size.

Will this be Zimbabwe's biggest ever squad?

Expand

No. This will be their smallest team ever including even the Rhodesia era...

The biggest teams were (42 athletes) in Moscow 1980 (thanks also W Field Hockey) and (31) in Rio 5 years ago (thanks also W Football)

This time almost every middle and small sized country in the world will send its lowest team ever
