Germany is projected to go 5th (Germany should always aim for the 4th place behind Russia/China/USA, unless Japan/France/GB host the olympics, then 5th place should be the goal) and win 5 more medals than in 2016.

The prediction for The Netherlands - 12-12-13 - is ridiculous. I think Netherlands will be happy with 20 medals (1 more than in Rio).

Well, in totallympics medal table :NED has even more: 12-12-15...

 

Often in these predictions/projections/whateveryoucallthem the big nations have inflated counts because many smaller nations start caring when the olympics are close (cuz funding only appears then, etc).

And because they don't look at chances, but at medals only. A hypothetical nation with 20 4th places at world champs in the past two years will be projected to win 0 medals, whereas several medals is actually a lot more realistic in that case.

Predcitions this far away from the olympics cant be taken seriously, i dont know why anyone would bother taking this seriously.

      I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->

I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)

      Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube.       Surely. Her first coach now works in russia (and grandma lives in russia according to Sereda). They were in contact and despite of full funding from  the girl decided to become the star of russian propaganda.  As I saw in X: "It took the Russians four years of war to find a relatively well-known sports personality to carry out such a propaganda operation."
