The quotas that were taken from Romania will also be reallocated. So, one more for both genders.

Btw, :FIN already qualified in men's, so they can't get women's quota.

And they will take more quotas from other countries, Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova etc. after finalizing 2015 cases. at least that's what they have to do per their rules but of course IWF is not among the clean sport federations. actually one of the dirtiest.

btw Azerbaijan has to give up one quota for the same reason, so if only Kostova qualifies , they have to give up her spot per rules ?! right ?! :mumble:

Yeah, if they take 1-2 quotas away from those countries then there will be a lot of reallocations!

As for Azerbaijan, in theory 1-1=0... But we are talking about Azerbaijan here so I guess it could be 1-1+x=x

We now have another complication. 2 Poles have failed drug tests for growth hormone, This could means they will lose a quota place,

Samoraj will probably lose 6th place from the European championships.

Start Book has been published in IWF site.

Very few entries, with one event having only 3; I think the quotas are almost defined as only 7 countries will have 6 or more competitors in Men's, one of them being DR Congo, whose every entry is listed as 55kg :dunno: In the women's competition it seems Cameroon, Nigeria and Tunisia will take the first 3 positions, with the last spot open to competition.

Oh DR Congo  And I thought that UAE women's team was pathetic. Btw, seems like Morocco is going for the similar strategy in women's events (they have the lowest entries in a lot of categories).

    • Where did you get that?   I'm not sure I would have considered her to have dissapeared from out of nowhere, at least since after Tokyo... she did win medals at the next two World Championships. I think it's just recently, she's been struggling with injury which is why she's completely out of form...
    • Even though I'm not the biggest fan of her, always sucks to see a career ending through injury and not on your own terms
    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.

    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
