Wow! Very nice.  Was going to say there can’t be many in Africa, but I’m sure there must be plenty in Françafrique, the old-style concrete ones at least.

They were a dozen of vélodromes built in northern Africa, the better exemple being the Stade Municipal in Algiers (opened in 1930, 400m track, host of a six days race, etc...)

The stadium still exist today, the track is still there but probably hasn't been used in decades.

And now it's cancelled. Too bad that they didn't just give it to Copenhagen who were ready to take over.

UCI tweeted this but then deleted the tweet very quickly..
