I find it very entertaining to see the times for individual laps over 3/5/10k, but I think it's a very technical sport. Honestly, I really like it, but it's a matter of taste, obviously.

I know what you mean. But there are two things in it. A close, head-to-head racing with big speed and all these corners, changing positions, is obviously very very entertaining and i do like it a lot.

 

But i don't understand the refeering in many cases here. Sometimes their decisions are pretty obvious and i agree with them in a second. But I think a lot of decisions are very discretionary and i don't get them, those discretionary referee decisions keep me away from this sport a bit. Even if this will be one of a very small number of medal chances for Poland in 2026 olympics.

Main problem was - which is why I gave up on it - that the refereeing was always different and harsher for the Olympics than it was for the regular season World Cups.

And here goes the same question - each and every season...

 

Where is this website with the top times of the season in each event? I keep on losing it in the summer...

the new Speedskating track in Rho/Fiera (Milan) will be the stage for the 1st Junior World cup meet of the season on Saturday (10 a.m. start with 1000m, 3000m & team pursuit for juniors and neo-seniors, men and women) & Sunday (9.30 a.m. start with 500m, 1500m & mass start races, always for juniors and neo-seniors, men and women)

I hope this won't be demolished after the Games.. It could be from the way the picture is taken, but they could have made the roof a bit higher.  If i was in the stands i'd be agitated when looking in the hall.

Definitely looks like it's a temporary structure that's not going to be there for long.  The low roof probably isn't a bad thing for the athletes.  Less air in the building to move around, so hopefully it means faster ice

unfortunately it's a temporary venue, it will be back to its regular use after the Games (it's a pavillion of the greatest Exhibition Complex in Milan, in Italy, actually)

 

same for the secondary Hockey venue that will host most of the women's matches (that will be officially opened with the IB division Junior Worlds from Dec. 8th)
