Yes, she had minor injury but it rather looks like the lack of emotions after winning all last year.

We could expect medals from Kokhan (with this result he would win a medal at every previous WCH) and Doroshuk. They were close and it is not about weak performance. It is about high level of competitions.

Let me ask you a slightly question outside of sport: who is considered the most attractive person in Ukraine:

- Levchenko,
- Machuchik,
- Kostyuk?

I'm asking because I see that in the West of Europe (also in Italy), Kostyuk is considered incredibly beautiful person, but in my opinion, compared to the first two, it's really hard to understand (of course, beauty is a matter of taste, etc, etc.). So I'm curious if your criteria are similar, or maybe completely different?

Why Uruguay it is so weak in sport overall, without football? Small population, small traditions, weak economic position?

Because football dominates the interest of the public, media and politicians.

Italy won the Men's Volleyball World Championship yesterday, but the main news of the day is Milan's victory in Serie A:hairpull:

Yeah but still their sport infrastructure is ridiculously bad. Even Paraguay who isn't much bigger is better in that.

Indeed. The Pista Oficial Darwiñ Pineyrúa in Montevideo was closed for two full years to get a new track surface.

All basketball club "arenas" except Biguá lack floor heating, so they can't be used when it rains. The federation currently doesn't have a training center.

Uruguay doesn't have a single FINA swimming pool - even though Maglione was the FINA president for decades.

    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
