:FRA Cyprien Sarrazin suffered a major crash training in Bormio. He is conscious, but will need to undergoe surgery to address a brain bleed.

and :ITA Pietro Zazzi also had a bad crash, ending up with broken tibia and fibula in his right leg

a few more skiers also went down Today, but luckily with no injuries

the different quality and consistence of the snow (and ice) in some points of the track made it very difficult and will be a problem also Tomorrow, when the skiers will have to go full speed

I haven't read anything about that

meanwhile many skiers were complaining about the snow and the different consistency of it between the sectors of the track

Odermatt was quite polite but very tough at the same time on that...

Casse threw away the victory. He went very long, finishing uphill in the snow that was brought back (losing at least 1 second), and still came within 5 tenths... :(

Men alpine skiers are getting almost on the crybaby level of F1 drivers, footballers and cyclists.. I fully agree with Marcus Waldner who said, that skiers are complaining about everything and anything every weekend.

In Levi they didn't like the fog, in Gurgl it was the snow consistence and light, in Val D'Isere it was the snowfall on the track, now in Bormio there are 10x excuses. It's a weather infected outdoor sport for Pete's sake and all of them KNOW this from a young age. There are no optimal conditions in a vacuum for your run...

If you can't cope with the conditions, then adjust, if you can't adjust, then reduce the speed to mitigate the mistakes, but don't bitch and want to change stuff for everyone, because YOU can't cope.

Allegre took the cake yesterday, when he said, that Italy should be stripped of the Olympics, because of the Bormio course :roflmao: What a clown. No, better yet, what a moron.

    • Gravina is simply stupid and probably has some kind of hold over other important key figures in Italian football, since he was elected in 2024 with a majority of over 90% of the votes... I have a hard time imagining it any other way. Compared to him, even Carraro, Berlusconi and Moggi seem like nice and kind gentlemens   Some people believe that Calciopoli in 2006 began the decline of Italian football and that may be true. It only got worse from there, not counting a single accidental Euro 2021 win- something similar to Greece in 2004. In 2009 Roberto Baggio prepared a 900-page report on necessary reforms in Italian football, but the then-FIGC board tossed it into the trash bin. Now we see the consequences...
    • I thought our former football President was greedy, selfish, power hungry and delusional, but apparently he has an equal counterpart in Gravina. Some people just lack common decency.
    • Well, it's possible that Italians may be more bitter towards short track officials after the robbery they perpetrated against Sighel at the Olympics and therefore more willing to comment and criticize them, but it doesn't make the decision any less ridiculous.   Also, the fact we are Italians, and therefore used to the low standards of football refereeing, makes us especially qualified and trained to identify biased/crooked/incompetent judging
    • I think it was never in the history of our sport has there been anyone as brazen and stupid as Gravina. Before presidents would resign, or at least hide for a while, rather than go into a full-blow scandalous attitude with full larrogance and pride. I hope this idiot gets fired anyway, even if he doesn't resign.

    • Joking aside, apparently discussions are ongoing with ECB and CI for some kind of euro 6 Nations in T20 cricket - apparently the idea at this point is automatic qualification for England, Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands, while the final two places will be decided at a Tri-series in which Italy will be the only automatic entry, more or less guarnteeing Italy entry - from there, its two parallel Tri series with a finals day. Apparently inspired by the rise of Nepal and the Asia Cup, English cricket think they can make a short sharp tournament of this sort financially viable, as it would involve only three T20 games over 5 days in the early season, and they could rest the biggest players while getting some goodwill from ICC - previously they had not shown interest in a comp the Scots and Dutch have always wanted.
