Italy have a big problem in sabre general, but among women, it was almost a miracle that we advanced to these games. We have a problem because our fencers are simply average. France became a leading power in 3 years and after Tokyo 2021, they started from a level similar to ours. In men, our all saber team is also saved once again by a veteran - Samele, who in Montano's times was considered a solid average fencer rather than a champion.

That was an acceptable defeat and a great silver medal. There weren't any doubts about the Korean gold, they are clearly ahead of everyone else atm.
