Doping Cases and Bans in 2024

Recommended Posts

USADA knew about their athletes being doped, still didnt prevent them from competing. This should be huge!

Lol how ironic that a certain user was complaining about doping after the 800m race.

Surely he wouldn't have been allowed to start had they found something?

Stuff going on in Poland, where the NADA has been hacked by a pro-Russian group. Leaked documents seem to show positive tests for among others Robert Lewandowski (steroids) and Iga Swiatek (EPO).

Since it's a pro-Russian group that came with it, one might take it with an entire salt mine, but still worth keeping an eye on.

It reads like a who's who of the polish sport of the last 10 years...

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
