it was not over...then, he improved to 8.34, which is a new U-20 indoor world record (only 1 cm shy of the outdoor u-20 world record, held by a Russian guy) and equalled the 2024 world leading mark set by :JAM Chris Pinnock

I think you mean Wayne* Pinnock :p

Women's PV from the :GBR championships.

Molly Caudery jumps 4.85m to regain her place at the top of the world rankings.

Although since the US Championships is going on as we speak,it may not last more than a few hours in that position.

Not sure if it will be available outside the United States, but CBS aired a piece on Kelvin Kiptum after his recent death. They were going to release it ahead of his next race in April :( (The round table discussion at the end is “meh,” but the piece itself is nice)

Femke Bol just improved her indoor 400m record by another 0,02 seconds at the National Championships! 49,24:hyper::hyper:

Meanwhile Lieke Klaver improved her indoor PB to 50,10 and 16 years old Madelief van Leur ran a NR U18 with 53,96 in the heats yesterday (improving the NR of Bol herself!).

WORLD RECORD again for Femke Bol - 49.24

Lieke Klaver (50.10) and Cathelijn Peeters (52.08) with very good times as well. We are searching a fourth athlete to complete our relayteam.

despite the hype, nothing special happened in day #2 of the Italian Indoor Nationals

the very much expected battle between Leonardo Fabbri and Zane Weir in the men's Shot Put was won by Weir with 21m69cm

Fabbri was 2nd with a very disappointing mark of 21m07cm

Andy Diaz won the men's Triple Jump with 17m60cm ahead of Emanuel Ihemeje with 17m03cm (he only made the 1st jump...hope he isn't injured)

Chituru Ali won the men's 60m dash in 6.57

Zeynab Dosso confirmed herself as the fastest girl in Italy winning the women's 60m dash in a convincing 7.06

finally, 18-year young Aurora Vicini won the women's High Jump with 1m92cm, which is the new Italian Junior record

Definitely a story to keep tabs on…

My initial thought is that I’m not opposed to this decision, but it will be interesting to see how this develops.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
