Gjerdalen won the Vassaloppet 2021 in 3:28:18.4 ahead of Karsson and Vokuev. 9t place for the young brother of Therese Johaug.

Among womens a certain Marit Bjoergen in a amazing 2nd place behind Korsgren. New record time far far under the 4 hours for Korsgren

And Gjerdalen's time was 10 minutes faster than the fastest time ever. The start location was different though, so it kind of makes me wonder if they'll count these course records and if the distance was the same :p

That solo win for Gjerdalen

Ah yeah, noticed that too. Oddly the location of the finish itself looked (but maybe wasn't) the same, but the road towards it - specifically until around 300 meters - didn't :p

Please, does anyone here know what the rules are to qualify for the pursuit race in the World Cup?

I've heard that we have to get under a certain (and still unknown) number of FIS points. But no one in the federation seems to know anything about it.

On the email from FIS, it says that in Engadin we will have a Mass start with a 3x 3.3km lap and overlapped athletes will also not be able to start in the Pursuit race.

Can not find anyhing precise exactly about the Engadin stage, but according to FIS rules, every athlete who finished the previous race is allowed to enter the next pursuit race, with in order to prevent too large start time dfferences, the Jury can decide upon the use of the "wave start".

Thank you!

I found that too, but was still wondering what was that about the limit of FIS points that someone told me. Anyhow, if there is anything, we will get to know latest on Saturday ??‍♀️?

Anyone (@dcro perhaps?) who remembers how long it took four years ago for FIS to start the whole process of allocating quotas and other things which really indicate which countries will get how many quotas?
