I honestly don't think that's anywhere near the Main reason. I would say that it's mainly due to scheduling. The PGA and European tours don't take a Break for the Olympics. The women's Tours do

At least the womens field will be strong with practically all the big names playing. At the very least Stenson will represent Sweden the newly crowned British Open champ, that's good news.
