I love wearing a necktie for some official events - this way I can keep the savoire-vivre of fastening the highest button of my chemise (I mean, I always have it fastened, though without a tie I shouldn't have). And I seem to be one of few men I know who feels good in an official suit (also breaking the button savoire-vivre with fastening both buttons instead of only one).
