So the results are out.

2 044 855 Tested people with 13 509 positive so 0.66 %

In all of the 45 tested districts the results are more than half lower than last weekend. And in the 4 Districts which were tested 3 times the new results are quite impressive, for example in the distrct of Námestovo the result is 0.55 % positive cases this weekend, it is 88 % lower number than 2 weeks ago.

In Bardejov district it was 3.75 % during the pilot testing, last weekend slightly under 2 % and now 0.83 %

ToOhlCGWR5qNWPFgHGI2CQ~Minister-obrany-S

Btw fun fact in the northern borders regions many :POLcitizens took the opportunity to pass the test for free, sadly a lot of them were positive which increased the amount of positives percentage in these municipalitise. even in one village all tested Poles were positive

Big news from Pfizer. Their vaccine appears to be 90%+ effective.

really, big news...

they also said it's good for every people between 16 and 85 years old...a very good range (and it looks that it's quite effective already after the first injection, even if the protocol is based on 2 injections, the second about 2 months after the first)...

just a small technical problem...it must be kept at -80° C, which will make it quite difficult for many operators...basically, it will be up only to hospitals and very few other vaccine centers to inject it to the people, likely causing delays and/or troubles to quicken the operations...

Yeah the temperature requirement is insane and the news is same as the pfizer vaccine is totally ineffective for low and middle income countries as they cannot store or transport at such low temperatures.

well, I just read that Pfizer is taking charge of all the productive and also the supply chain...

apparently they're going to rent a lot of flying spaces from all the main couriers (FedEx, DHL, UPS) and they will produce by themselves both vaccine vials (made of a special thicker glass to avoid unexpected ruptures during travel) and storage cases capable of keeping those vials at -80° C for good 10 days (which should be enough to reach all the destination points and inject the vaccine before it gets useless/even dangerous because of bad storaging)...

however, it looks that Pfizer's is the only vaccine with such demanding procedure...Moderna's should be kept at -20° C (still a challenge, but not so extreme), but the others (Oxford/Astra-Zeneca and Johnson & Johnson and those coming from CHN and RUS) wouldn't need anything more than normal fridges (0 - 4° C)...

hopefully there will be enough for every people in the world, also for those living in low and middle income Countries...:fingers:

Here in India vaccine distribution blueprint is being prepared. Around 400 million doses of vaccine will be available by 2020 end manufactured in Pune, a big majority of which will be for India.

It is quite interesting that the CEO of Pfizer is a Greek Jew and the CEO of BioNTech (the company that developed the vaccine) is a Turkish immigrant to Germany. :mumble:

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

This is common in the USA.  Back during the ex-Yugoslav wars in the early 90s my brother worked in the same office as Serbs + Croats.

    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
