Biathlon IBU World Championships 2020

I didn’t post it earlier, but I’m high key happy with Dunklee’s performance today. Clearly, I set the bar to low for the US team :p

If she could’ve just held her speed...what could have been.

Hey, after Bailey’s miracle, nothing is imposible in US biathlon. (Also beat an unexpectedly good Czech on that day too :p, though Moravec was a bit more prolific than today’s bronze medal winner)

Nobody mentioned it but :BUL Milena Todorova finished 27th with only one miss. She scored a total of 2 points in her World Cup career to date (39th in Ostersund individual this season).

Well, feels like it's going to be the miracle World Championships for Lithuania :)

It was easily a career best with one less miss for Natalija and that would have been amazing, but getting into points is very cool too.

If Vytautas Strolia is going to sneak into top 10 tomorrow, just remember you heard it here first

World Champs & Olympics are always a big chance for the small nations because of the restricted numbers for the giants.  But it’s one thing to have a chance, another to take it. :yes

Yeah, our juniors in the IBU cup are not going to have a good time with so many strong athletes starting there, that didn't fit in the team here :d

I just was able to watch the women's sprint.  Very fun race to watch and so excited for Dunklee, but also Egan and Reid.  Lots of crazy issues with shooting. I am looking forward to the men's sprint.

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
    • There was some initial disappointment at first, but got over it quite quickly.    Happy for  and I hope they can win a medal in LA with their MLB players there!

    • Thanks for the challenge! Last two were really tough, especially the last one where 10 minutes were not enough to backtrack to the starting point
