Makedonas 1,623 Posted May 27, 2023 #11 Share Posted May 27, 2023 Our LW2X won their repechage after finishing 2nd in their heat, and are now in the final. I think they have a good shot at a medal but have a feeling they'll just miss out. Still, a good sign for Olympic qualification. Our men's pair didn't make it through the repechage and will be in Final C. A regatta to forget for them... Fragkou won the repechage in the women's single sculls but just finished last in her semifinal, so Final B it is. Hopefully she can finish around 8th or 9th overall. Our LM2X finished second in their semifinal and will fight for a medal in about an hour And Ntouskos finished second in his semifinal, so hopefully he can win a medal tomorrow. Especially with Damir Martin and Kjetil Borch not making it, there are opportunities for him for sure. So we sent 6 boats to Bled and made 4 finals, definitely not bad, hopefully we can get a few medals as well...
Illya 429 Posted May 27, 2023 #12 Share Posted May 27, 2023 What an A-final for Ukrainian womens quad Our rowing is reincarnated by little from the strange decisions of the coaching staff, so after 1 crew in Tokyo we can even compete for 3-5 crews at the OG Makedonas

Really impressive especially since Kontou is just 17 yo And our LM2X won bronze They are also quite young, 24 yo and 22 yo. Anastasiadou really should win a medal tomorrow and hopefully Ntouskos as well. Ted

CCB 462 Posted May 27, 2023 #15 Share Posted May 27, 2023 Well, as expected only silver and bronze medals for the Dutch boats. Except for the Men's Eight, all the boats (even the M4x) were far from gold.
Werloc 3,127 Posted May 28, 2023 #16 Share Posted May 28, 2023 Funnily enough, four of the Lithuanian boats are in the A finals today I wonder if at least one of them will be able to pick up a medal in a few hours

Werloc 3,127 Posted May 28, 2023 #19 Share Posted May 28, 2023 Woah, Lithuania You can put Karalienė in any boat and she will find a way to make it succeed. Our rowing seems to be coming back after a few mediocre years. Makedonas
IoNuTzZ 293 Posted May 28, 2023 #20 Share Posted May 28, 2023 Ancuta Bodnar had a recent death in the family and could no longer train because of this, that’s why Simona Radis was supposed to compete in the skiff. I am extremely happy for this medal of Radis and Bodnar. Makedonas
