4 x 200 needs to lose the semifinals. There arent enough strong teams for that. Make a direct final and that's it.

Honestly, I think all 200 individual races should lose the semi-finals.

But think about all the content(tm) you'd be taking away from NBC!

(IMO this is the real reason the swimming program is bloated - it's one of the three tent-pole sports for NBC and they do not want the number of semi-final and final races to go down)

And now that the US is good at distance events I doubt NBC would want the 800 to go away either.

I think it should depends on numer of heats, not on distance, if there are only three heats, there is no reason to have semi-finals.

According to our media the IOC ethic committee sent a letter to 111 IOC members to clarify who is eligible to run for the office of the head of the IOC.

And it looks like Sebastian Coe may be not allowed to run for the head of the IOC office since he is a member of the IOC as a head of the World Athletics and his term will be finished in 2027.

Arbitrary application of the law is a real halmark of autoritarianism. The IOC has no issues whatsoever bending or completly ignoring the IOC charter when it favours King Thomas.

Coe would be even worse than Bach, though...

actually, it's time I make my candidature official  :pope:

I think Coe would be worse, but I also think that blocking his candidacy is just another sign that the IOC is falling into one man rule.
