here we go again...

that bunch of idiots managing the Italian Rowing team tried for the billionth time to pursue the dream of having a competitive Eight and they missed out once again

but what's even worse, they blew many qualification chances in doing that and therefore, despite a record that might look very good on average, we're now approaching the moment that many (myself in first place) feared: the lowest point ever in the glorious history of the sport

I'm officially disgusted by our officials, coaches and also by many athletes, who did show a really bad attitude and lack of fighting spirit since the preliminary heats  :hairpull:

Amazing comeback by :ROU, gotta agree

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

They'll all add to the totals in the B finals. Some young crews improving and may be competitive next year

So my hit rate on finalists was 63/84 which is 75%. Of the 72 boats that have secured qualification at this point 11 weren't ranked in a qualifying position although positively no nation had multiple boats fall into this category which there wasn't any fundamental flaws with my rankings. 61/72 (84.7%) in terms of boats qualified at this point is probably a little dissapointing given that the last few qualifying spots are likely to be more volatile. There are gauranteed to be at least 8 more boats that werent ranked in a qualifying position that will qualify. Therefore the absolute best case scenario for my rankings would be a hit rate of 95/114 (83.3%). My target was 80% so I will probably need to get very lucky to hit that.

Germany only had 7 boats in Tokyo as well and they still have 6 chances to qualify here in B-finals + A-final in M8+.
I see good chances to qualify in W1x, M2x and medium chances for M8+, LM2x and W4x, so they could end up with 5-6 quotas  in the end which is more or less identical to Tokyo (one boat qualified in Lucern last time).

    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same

Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
