Yeah, It's Official, sadly.. I don't think they change it... I ...just hope  to see the DPRK team at 2022 Asian Games in Huangzhou...

I suppose there will be an offer from IOC to compete under :IOC flag for some individuals....

Athletes might want and if they want there's no reason it should be IOC. But instead DPR Korea flag only. However they don't have a flight to come out they don't have a option only they are not athletes they are just servants in the country who have to follow the orders.

I think DPRK doesn't trust China at all.

Looks like they aren't  that well(Ok, they never are) in economy and they have even  a really awful relationship with Japan.

I know the DPRK is working hard, but even Kim Jong Un is talking about a new great challenge. I, like a fan of DPRK sport, feel so terrible... you don't watch the North Korean performance so often...

Kim Mi-Rae was my favorite... I think she was able to achieve two Olympic medals on the platform..

I was all ready to cheer for Om Yun-chol again...it's not every day you see North Korean athletes (like you said) and even more rare to see North Korean athletes who show the kind of emotions Om shows :( (or even noticeable emotions at all, which after all is one of the main things that makes sports interesting to watch)

2 months left for the games!

And Yes, if the cases don't increase drastically, spectators will be allowed at the games :cheer:

It's a good decision by the organizers and the PM to allow spectators ! Official Confirmation will only come next month though!

According to Japanese tabloid Daily Shincho, in a Japanese Olympic athletes press conference, media are told not to raise question about vaccine and OG cancellation. Because if athletes tell the truth that they hope OG will be held then they will face backlash on internet.

I think it perfectly illustrated why we always see tennis/golf these rich professional players want OG canceled.

It’s not impossible we will get riots outside the venues then.

    • Of the top teams the world with traditions, only Portugal didn`t play in 3 World Cups in a row: 1986-2002 (1990, 1994 and 1998), but then fewer teams played in the World Cup than now. I don't really remember what caused the crisis in Portuguese football in the 1990s or how it was done with this later? Perhaps we should follow their example?
    • Well... If not qualifying for the World Cup for the third consecutive time isn't enough to bring about change in Italy, I can't imagine what will be.
    • Gravina is simply stupid and probably has some kind of hold over other important key figures in Italian football, since he was elected in 2024 with a majority of over 90% of the votes... I have a hard time imagining it any other way. Compared to him, even Carraro, Berlusconi and Moggi seem like nice and kind gentlemens   Some people believe that Calciopoli in 2006 began the decline of Italian football and that may be true. It only got worse from there, not counting a single accidental Euro 2021 win- something similar to Greece in 2004. In 2009 Roberto Baggio prepared a 900-page report on necessary reforms in Italian football, but the then-FIGC board tossed it into the trash bin. Now we see the consequences...
    • I thought our former football President was greedy, selfish, power hungry and delusional, but apparently he has an equal counterpart in Gravina. Some people just lack common decency.
    • Well, it's possible that Italians may be more bitter towards short track officials after the robbery they perpetrated against Sighel at the Olympics and therefore more willing to comment and criticize them, but it doesn't make the decision any less ridiculous.   Also, the fact we are Italians, and therefore used to the low standards of football refereeing, makes us especially qualified and trained to identify biased/crooked/incompetent judging
    • I think it was never in the history of our sport has there been anyone as brazen and stupid as Gravina. Before presidents would resign, or at least hide for a while, rather than go into a full-blow scandalous attitude with full larrogance and pride. I hope this idiot gets fired anyway, even if he doesn't resign.
