No, based on the heats they can go any order, it's just that the top teams all went two men then two women and it looks like no one changed their strategy

It's not obligated. I don't like it. If there is no mixing, then this already rather senseless gimmick is left with no sense at all.

Mixed relays are useless gimmick. It's only a reason to give the power house nations more chances to win easy medals
