Because having four different strokes with each of them having (at least) three distances is bullshit. I'd much rather see those lesser strokes only have the 200m

But why would you warm-down after a race? Wouldn't one want to cool the muscles and body etc, while before the race everything has to be warmed up?

I think warm-down implies still moving after the race, only at lower intensity.
