That's incorrect. Halaand already had severe issues with the other knee and would have stopped playing soon afterwards regardless of this tackle. Plus he was the one who mocked Keane and accused him of faking when Kean tore his ACL back in 1997.

Doesn't change the fact that Keane behaved like a thug and a coward with that tackle though

what a drama Korea-Senegal QF. Korea equalized in 90+7 minute. then took the lead but Senegal did the same in 120th minute. and penalties were full of drama.

we have Korea, Ecuador and Italy in semifinal. those 3 names together comes one name to my mind. Byron Moreno ! :d:wall:

Bryon Moreno, one of the biggest shame of the sport :facepalm:In Italy he is still very hated and everyone remembers him...

by the way, this new attitude towards the goalkeepers during the execution of any penalty shot (and the chance to support it through the VAR) is really annoying...

they're just making a lot of injustice and taking most of the excitement off...

basically, if the goalkeeper doesn't anticipate where the shot is going and start a fraction before the ball is actually hit, there's no chance to even imagine to stop a well placed penalty shot...you can only sit in the middle of the goal and hope that your rival throws the ball out of the stadium by himself (or attempts a silly shot in the middle of the goal, so to be already there to stop it without a single move)...

I'm very much against this "evolution", take the VAR away from this kind of evaluation!:wall:

    • Apparently was leading 0.4 seconds to go by 3 points but still managed to lose the match     Anyway it looks there some progress from the loses to Albania and co from couple of years ago... maybe thhere a chance for a win in a international match in the next decade. • Hope so (for my adopted country, Norway, that is). Torino 2006 was the first Winter Olympics I followed closely and it was nothing short of a disaster for Norway. Strangely enough, that was actually the reason I became an avid fan of Norwegian winter sports and have been ever since. As for my actual home country, Greece, a medal for Ginnis in slalom (alpine skiing) would be a miracle.
