It's really not that difficult, there's the official training the day before the race to do that. Plenty of time. Simple enough to do: define the race piste & say that only athletes entered in the race can ski on that piste in the days preceding the event. If biathletes (or their coaches) are expected to be weather forecasters, then they should be able to choose their own skis. It's more a matter of not wanting to do that than not being able to implement it I mean, for smaller nations it is the norm to choose one's own skis, it is not rocket science but it is/should be definitely part of being a good athlete. Hey, ES Commentator Mike Dixon waxed his own skis. So don’t come crying…

I know a certain Totallympian who might be doing that as well next season if needed, it's an excellent way to improve oneself as an overall athlete because you really think about all the details and conditions. Men's pursuit and women's sprint are put either side of the cross-country races in Falun. Since Norway can control the Holmenkollen schedule I'm pretty sure they want to avoid TV window clash. Biathlonfan 382 Posted March 18, 2023 #719 Share Posted March 18, 2023 Happy to see Strolia did very well in the pursuit,a good ending to a pretty unfortunate second half of the season,i'm assuming this was his last race in oslo since i'm not seeing him in the mass start list.
