that was lucky going to the final alongside with 6 already qualified shooters. I guess she probably will know that only after the final.

this is the first 2020 Olympic quota for Iran. at least one good news these days :yes

and once again Zublasing fails...and not only she fails to make the podium in the actual competition, but what's even worse, she fails to earn an Olympic spot...

time and events are running out...and we have got only 1 pistol/rifle quota...:nopompom:

tbh, I knew it was going to be difficult to manage Campriani's retirement, but frankly I didn't expect such a vertical drop in our results (and our promising youngsters once again seem to have a lot of troubles with the transition from -relatively- successful juniors to just average seniors)...:(

by the way, in Olympic perspective, the most important news of the day is another:

New formats for mixed team events to be tested

The governing body of the sport of shooting, the ISSF, has announced it’s to trial new formats for mixed team events as the sport prepares for the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games.

The ISSF Executive Committee has approved testing of the new formats in Air Rifle, Air Pistol, Trap and Skeet

The idea is to make the competitions more exciting, and also to make it more understandable for those watching on TV.

Eliminations in Mixed Team Finals formats in use were introduced in 2018.

That has led to a crowded Field of Play, with double the normal amount of athletes and officials.

Now the ISSF has decided to change to a system of semifinals followed by two medal matches with two teams in each match.

Testing will take place at all ISSF supervised competitions of 2019, starting with the World Cups in Beijing (Rifle/Pistol events) and Changwon (Shotgun).

It will allow officials to fine tune the new formats that will be used at the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games.

    • Finals are set    An all-Canadian final on the women’s side, as Team Homan looks to win their third title of the season (and improve to 18-1) against a hungry Team Einarson who have had a less than ideal start to the season, they were also the last Canadian team to beat Homan over a year ago (same event coincidentally), while on the men’s side it’ll be a battle between Olympic medalists as Team Mouat goes against Team Gushue!
    • Yeah, it was clear. But i repeat, we need it? I think no.
    • GSOC HearingLife Tour Challenge Semifinals  Women  Team Fujisawa v.  Team Einarson  Team Lawes v.  Team Homan   Men  Team Mouat v.  Team McEwen  Team Dunstone v.  Team Gushue
    • In the past the ISU has now allowed countries without a Federation to compete.
    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)
    • World Junior Championships ( Dushanbe)   Day #4 Medallists   women's -78kg Gold:  Brenda Olaya Silver:  Mathilda Sophie Niemeyer Bronze:  Eva Ronja Buddenkotte &  Dandara Camilo   women's +78kg Gold:  Lee Hyeon Ji Silver:  Celia Cancan Bronze:  Chihiro Yamaguchi &  Safa Soliman   men's -100kg Gold:  Mukhammadsodik Sodikov Silver:  Nozomu Miki Bronze:  Azhdar Baghirov &  Fares Mekhoukh   men's +100kg Gold:  Denis Batchaev Silver:  Kanan Nasibov Bronze:  Saba Kardava &  Ibrahim Tataroglu
    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
