:POL Wilfredo Leon inked a new deal with his current Italian club, Sir Safety Perugia...

It looks he's going to get 1.5 million €/year for the next 3 seasons...:yikes:

where did they find all that money is a mistery to me...:mumble:

Well, they were already paying him a million a year, so only 500k extra needed to be found :d Plus it helps when your team's roster is only of 15 people. 

 

I wonder if Matej Kazijski is still top 10 though in the salary table..

Mark Lebedew took charge of Slovenia just a few days ago after Alberto Giuliani decided to now renew his contract. There are big expectations of him as the main goal is for this golden generation to qualify for the OG in Paris in two years time. No pressure:d

Bulgaria is going to replace Russia in this years Women's Nations League. We are going to host one of the week rounds as well. Who is going to replace Russia on the men's side is yet to be decided.

:FRA beat :CRO 3-0 in the European Golden League semis.

Second straight win against Croatia after last year's Euro, and still FIVB decided to send Croatia to the WCh to replace Russia. They have proved time and time again that awarding wild-cards was within their capabilities, but not this time. Great progress and hosting the next Olympics is not enough it seems.

    • It's waaaay too expensive & inconvenient. Basically WOG minus the bobsleigh track & indoor arena for figure skating/hockey(which is the easy part of Olympic bid). Just won't happen anytime soon. Winter sports are too facility dependant and the entire alpine skiing requires a separate venue.
    • The ISU is looking into a combined World Championships for its 4 disciplines.   The FIS tried this and it appears the progress there has stalled.

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
