Say hello to Bradley Wiggins and other British doppers who are under the roof of WADA and Craig Reedy The whole dealings around Team Sky are incredibly shady as well, and the way it is being handled is ridiculous (there should be a huge investigation into this case, because Team Sky smells like shit from 10 miles away), but it has nothing to do with the case of Russian systematic doping mrv86, De_Gambassi and NearPup 3 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! NearPup 2,228 Posted November 24, 2017 #1384 Share Posted November 24, 2017 (edited) Team Sky and Bradley Wiggins are at the very least unethical. It’s possible they didn’t break any ruled, their use of TUEs shady but probably within what is allowed. But I don’t believe for one second the British government helped cover up for them. I also don’t believe for one second this is a conspiracy to meddle in the Russian presidential election. The Panama papers being leaked to hurt the Russian government, sure. But a state sanctioned doping program doesn’t even register in people’s opinion of Putin. Either you believe he is shady and it’s just the latest in a long line of transgressions or you don’t believe he is shady and no evidence of state sponsored doping would change your mind about him anyway. It would have been a lot better for the IOC to sweep this under the rug. The fact they aren’t shows they really believe in the evidence they have gattered. Believe it or not people in the West don’t want Russian athletes to miss the Winter Olympics. NBC isn’t out there beating the drum of banning Russians. Trump probably doesn’t even know there is a Russian doping scandal, so the idea this is some US lead conspiracy is ridiculous. It’s not good for anybody if Russia is banned or made to compete neutrally. Edited November 24, 2017 by NearPup
Xander 53 Posted November 26, 2017 #1385 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Russia 'drug cheats' set to cast shadow over World Cup draw as whistleblower reveals he has shocking evidence that proves Russian footballers were involved in state-sponsored doping: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-5117467/Russia-drug-cheats-set-cast-shadow-World-Cup-draw.html + Russian minister of Sports was obviously involved too: 'Mutko came to the [Sochi] Olympic village,' says Walden. 'Grigory has memos he has kept that were written for Mutko's benefit. Among them are one written after [a revelatory German] documentary came out, with my client advising what would happen if there was a retesting of stored Olympic samples, and that there was a problem with race-walking.' Sportsmail has one of those memos. 'There are hundreds and hundreds of data points [incidents] with Mutko, and I must stress Nagornykh as well,' Walden says. 'One of the things that was outrageous and shocking to me was a conversation my client had in 2013 in which it was suggested he [Rodchenkov] should 'spike' a Ukrainian rival's urine to make it look dirty and allow a Russian to win. That was something my client found an excuse not to do. This will be reported when the Schmid affidavit comes out.'

The federation says relay medalist Yulia Gushchina and long jumper Anna Nazarova were caught when their samples from the 2012 Olympics were retested. Gushchina had already been stripped of one gold and two silver relay medals from the 2008 and 2012 Olympics because various teammates were banned for doping offenses. Nazarova finished fifth in the long jump. More than 100 athletes have been disqualified from the 2008 and 2012 Olympics since the International Olympic Committee launched a wave of retests last year. Track and field has been the sport worst affected, and Russia has been the country with the most doping cases.
