Just got a glimpse of badminton in the highlights...

Kinda disappointed there is only one channel in the Olympic Channel when they have more sports than Minsk 2019

I know, I really enjoy watching badminton.

I'd really like to see how Gaitan is putting pressure on Michelle Li.

Badminton will not be broadcast on the world feed unfortunately. The EOC and OCA have done a much better job of promoting their events worldwide. There 4 international channels for both the 2018 Asian Games and 2019 Pan American. The host broadcaster does also have to think about cost, so I completely understand the decision not to show something like surfing, canoe slalom, sailing, etc. because that would quite a bit of money. Still MediaPro could’ve covered more in my opinion.

Paraguayan women scored against Mexico! :yikes:

Well as of lately, Mexican women are crap... they couldn't obtain one of four places in CONCACAF for World Cup.

They're becoming talentless divas, just like the men's team.

I hope she continues to grow.  If I'm not mistaken Mexican head coach is/was from Indonesia.

Well yeah I don't have any expectations in Pan Am showing badminton... Getting them in the highlights is already decent job.

Unlike Minsk 2019 who promised them live but showing it delayed instead

At least they showed quite a few games though.

Our legend Tan Joe Hok did coach Mexico in the late 70s, but I don't know if there is any after him.

Oh yeah, I remembered @mrv86... There is another Indonesian coach...

Not sure if he is still in the job but in 2014, there is a discussion about an Indonesian coach in Mexico whose name is Muamar Qadafi, just like the Libyan dictator

    • It's an interesting question, Norway is certainly expanding their efforts into a number of new sports. So, that cannot help but to peal off a few more natural athletes. I know their training methods are kinda rocking the world in a number of summer endurance sports.  I can't really speak to they dynamics of their development program. Their men's nordic programs largely always seem to be ridiculously deep, overwhelmingly so the last decade or so.

    • But it seems to us that Norway wasn't as strong in Lillehammer 1994 as it was later? And not just in women's events. Generally, until 2000, Norway was much weaker in women's biathlon and women`s cross-country skiing. I remember in the 1990s, Italy's biggest rivals, Belmondo and di Centa, were Russia, when Norway somewhere further back and only in the classic style. Bente Martinsen- Skari, this is their first really strong girl in cross country, just about 2000, just like Liv Grete Skielbreid- Pioree in women`s biathlon at similar times.   Do you think, that is there any hope that thanks to the popularity of Haaland and football in general in Norway in recent years, winter sports such as biathlon or cross-country skiing will lose a little bit, becouse that?

    • This suggestion  @Dnl  made some months ago has also been implemented.   In each club, I have added a "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" record which takes the content from the Qualification by Nation tracker of that NOC.   People who see it can not edit the content, but it will be automatically updated once @Matej will update the record, and if you notice any mistake feel free to report it to Matej or in the record itself.   Club's admins can now edit the name of the section into their own language or change the spelling, I have used "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" for all the clubs. To do so, go inside the section, then click on "Manage Club"-"Edit this database Record" and change the name of the section:     By the way, if you are not a club's admin but you would like to edit things inside the club just let me know and I will give you the rights to do so. There can be more "admins" inside the club with the rights to edit and organize the sections, and that's not a role that require time or commitment.   Let's try to make all the clubs active during MiCo and when the LA28 qualifications will start!
