@Werloc Maja Åskag will participate in ECH but I don’t think she has anything with the medals to do.

Yeah, I saw she barely made it in triple jump, but no 14 metres this season doesn't look good for a final qualification :/

a big dutch squad will participate at the European Championships. 60 athletes have qualify for the Dutch team.

How many medals will they bring home? My prediction:

Femke Bol at the 400 hurdles (gold), Lieke Klaver 400 metres (silver) Anouk Vetter heptathlon (silver), Nadine Visser 100 hurdles (silver), Jessica Schilder shot-put (silver), Jorinde van Klinken discus throw (bronze) 4x400 woman (silver)

Liemarvin Bonevacia 400 meter (bronze), Tony van Diepen 800 metres (silver), 4x400 men (gold)

Nice predictions, but I don't see the 4x400 men winning gold. They are all just a little less good than last year (mainly Ramsey Angela and Terrence Agard) and especially Belgium has a very strong team. Jorinde van Klinken winning a medal would be a very nice surprise!

Lithuania ends up qualifying 21 athletes to this event:

Women

400m - Modesta Justė Morauskaitė (7th Q), Agnė Šerkšnienė (34th Rating)

800m - Gabija Galvydytė (31st Rating)

3000m Steeplechase - Greta Karinauskaitė (27th Rating)

High Jump - Urtė Baikštytė (19th Rating)

Long Jump - Jogailė Petrokaitė (18th Rating)

Triple Jump - Aina Grikšaitė (16th Rating), Dovilė Kilty (17th Rating)

Discus Throw - Ieva Zarankaitė (17th Rating)

Javelin Throw - Liveta Jasiūnaitė (6th Q)

Marathon - Loreta Kančytė (38th Q)

20km Race Walk - Monika Vaiciukevičiūtė (34th Rating), Adrija Meškauskaitė (36th Rating)

Men

200m - Gediminas Truskauskas (20th Rating)

1500m - Simas Bertašius (29th Rating)

High Jump - Juozas Baikštys (12th Rating)

Discus Throw - Andrius Gudžius (Wild Card Q), Mykolas Alekna (4th Q)

Marathon - Ignas Brasevičius (57th Rating)

20km Race Walk - Marius Žiūkas (16th Q), Artur Mastianica (30th Rating)

35km Race Walk - Marius Žiūkas (19th Q), Artur Mastianica (23rd Q)

There were also some athletes that were pretty close to qualification: Airinė Palšytė 35th in high jump rating, Diana Zagainova 27th in triple jump rating, Diana Lobačevskė 62nd in marathon rating, Renalda Kergytė 65th in marathon rating, Austėja Kavaliauskaitė 37th in 20km race walk rating, Tomas Keršulis 44th in 200m rating and 42nd in 400m rating, Adrijus Glebauskas 29th in high jump rating, Martynas Alekna 36th in discus throw rating, Remigijus Kančys 61st in marathon rating, Edgaras Benkunskas 26th in decathlon rating.

And also some athletes that declined their qualification: Monika Bytautienė and Vaida Žūsinaitė in marathon and Brigita Virbalytė in 20km Race Walk.

Edis Matusevičius and Rokas Ickys are injured, but I think they would've made it in.

Welp, as I mentioned earlier, Šerkšnienė is skipping this due to injury.

For some reason both Vaiciukevičiūtė and Meškauskaitė were not added to the team.

Remigijus Kančys was added to the team to run the marathon even though he wasn't a qualified athlete?

19 athletes for Lithuania starting in the end and Žiūkas only doing the 20km Walk.

Team :POL with 81 athletes. Wojciech Nowcki is going to Munich after all despite what he said at WCh.

Maria Andrejczyk and Dawid Tomala are the only two notable absentees but the former is still struggling with injury so it's no surprise after the poor outing in Eugene.

Marcin Krukowski (javelin) who didn't go to Eugene due to vaccine stuff and was said to be preparing for Euros is out so his war with the federation is set to continue (I lost track if it's due to vaccine or lack of starts for eligible SB).

Sorry for Polish names, we send too many people for me to manually transcript it to English :p

Team Goal is one Final, under normal circumstances should not be a big problem for Zapletalová, however she is just returning from a serious injury which caused her to miss the entire first half of the season, and started the preparation only last month, so very hard to predict anything, a eventual qualification for the Finals would be definitely great.

We are also sending 9 athletes in the 4x400 relay but only 4 will actually start in the Heats (whom 3 will be certainly the double starters) and since the chances to advance fro the heats are somewhere around 0, five athletes will have a nice free trip to Munich :p

and the any last hope if there were any, is very likely gone, Emma returned after her long injury today and in her first race finished in Hungary dead last with a time over 59 seconds :( That is too cruel.. she was legitimatiely our biggest prospect and hope in this sport for a nice couple of years

but well, what can we do... I sincerely hope she will find the way to retun to her previous seasons shape and level. Slovak athletics (and our sport in general) will really need it. :(

    • Interesting (optimistic) predictions for GB. Don‘t See Them winning 5 golds (more than China and as many as Canada). I think 3 golds are more Realistic (Brookes + 2 in curling/skeleton). Especially gold for Bankes seems To be a rather optimistic prediction, given that Casta is 11 years younger and just beat Bankes.

    • I don’t think that Scattolo would be slower/less competitive than multiple of your current starters, so as an Italian Coach I would Definitely give her a Chance in The World Cup.
    • Will be interesting To see if younger athletes Like Grotian or Tannheimer can keep their skiing speed After The christmas Break. In The Past younger athletes Like Grotian or Elvira Öberg often Lost their Speed over The Break.   Also interesting To see that Julia Kink is faster than Selina Grotian was last year, so hopefully Next year she will reach The Level that Grotian currently Has. I feel that Kink so far didn‘t get The results she would have Been Capable of.
    • Very early predictions for Team Germany: Julia Tannheimer will become The youngest ever Olympic medalist in biathlon Selina Grotian will become The third youngest ever Olympic medalist in biathlon Finn Sonnekalb will become The third youngest Olympic medalist in men’s Speed skating
