Ya, this is a long time problem with how their qualification system is worded. “X NOCs will have 2/3 sleds” rather than “a maximum if X NOCs will have 2/3 sleds”. Frustrating, too, since it’s such an easy fix…

Crucial race weekend is coming up in Igls for Trang Tran Thi Doan.

 

There are only 12 names on the start list, but Trang still needs to beat as many names as possible, and especially Andreutti in the head-to head battle. It will be hard, but not impossible.

40 entires for the two-man at the Europa Cup. Easily the most entires I’ve seen at an IBSF event in a while. It’s definitely crunch time for Olympic qualification.

Fingers crossed... or hope a country declines.

 

Ibsf is also the only IF which refuses to reallocate any unused athlete spots... basically this will leave 4 or so quotas unused. If they wanted to grow this discipline... they'd reallocate these spots to the monobob

Sadly 10th place is not nearly enough. And even more sadly, the Ukrainian lady in 11th will qualify instead. Looks like Europe was the easier qualification route this year.

Yeah, but she will basically need a podium, which is fairly unlikely.

Looks like we are firmly heading to the first reserve position in both two-man and four-man. What else is new.

 

We will get in only if the Dutch withdraw from four-man, but even if likely, it will probably not happen because that's how our luck goes. They will end up changing the criteria or something.

Don't know why but the French girls decided to skip both Winterberg and Sigulda, or in fact any race at any competition during these weeks. So in the end they will only score 7 races, as opposed to 8 for the others. Qualification is manageable in both disciplines but with only one extra race it would have been a no-brainer ...
